Northampton v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 12.03.24

Think, to be fair to ATG and taking into account, not only our away form generally this season, but the tendency to take one step forward then a couple back, I wouldn't br surprised if the Board's in meltdown around 10pm.
Northampton have to win to stand a chance of making the playoffs.
They'll be a tough nut to crack (should that be NC's plan) and put us in our place at home when many expected a fairly easy three points
Oh I don't expect an easy three points Fudj. I expect a proper game. But, at this point of the season we must show that we deserve to go up and that means playing well. The days of ragging results are over.

Happy with that, this defence is our best bar hubby/casey which can’t be helped

I get very nervous about mid week away games. Living in Gloucestershire I went to the wonderful game on a SATURDAY at Bristol rovers followed by the awful mid week game at Cheltenham 🤷🏽‍♂️ let’s hope we can buck the trend tonight

On paper we look fine. It’s whether he trusts his players to let them play rather than trying to fit round pegs in square holes.

Tuesday night, away against a team that beat us at home, 3/1 for them to win seems generous, not that I would ever back against us.

Pennington has just launched it so far, need to pass it more, got to show more cutting edge when in possession and not just take that easy option.

No cutting edge so far, ball bouncing off Dembele, we have to find a way to get the forwards involved more and actually create chances.

I celebrated a goal then, thought it was well over the line. Dembele was in the way so hard to tell for definite.

Not much quality from midfield so far. All our best moments coming from Coulson. Don't think the stodgy pitch is helping though.
