Northampton v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 12.03.24

In a position where we can’t be dropping many points we have won away on a bobbly pitch in a dead atmosphere. A 2nd clean sheet in a row and 4th league win in 6.

I had Northampton commentary on and they were very complimentary about our defensive strengths, team set up and game management. Said that we basically stopped them from playing forwards all night. Funny that people with a vested interest in the opposition can see the qualities we have when some of our own supporters can not.

Anyway a much needed win, thank fcuk for that.

Job done, they keep teasing us, fair play.

Not great on the eye for large parts but as someone else said performances count for sweet fa at this stage.

It's often the way, when it's your side you can feel like you're not going to score but when you're the defending side it can feel under pressure.

We did OK on a terrible pitch, could have been a bit more clinical with a few half chances later on. Defended well overall.

Good win. They were bad but then again I also thought they were bad in the reverse fixture and we only drew that. We didn't look like conceding today. We have improved somewhat. Marv and Coulson very good. Grimshaw's distribution and all round competence very welcome!

I think we played pretty well apart from not creating enough chances. Coulson and Byers looked good . We need to keep them for next season if we can.More solid at the back.
Injuries to midfield players could damage us though

Shite game but three points.

Lincoln flying and Oxford in free fall. They play each other soon and we might be cheering on Oxford.

Lincoln are far and away the best side in the division since they decided to import half of the Irish league. Jack Moylan, Danny Mandroiu, captain Paudie O’Connor and Dylan Duffy have changed their play completely.
Didn't one of our Irish fans say we should sign Paudie?

And the notion that fans can't make suggestions is poo-pooed as if the scouting network is Chinese AI up to date.
