Nottingham Forest v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 07.01.23

Considering they're playing many of their first teamers and are a Prem team, we've done extremely well. Far better than I thought we would, and it just shows that we can do it. There's no excuse for these poor away results in the league - our players are good enough.

Defensively though, we're bad. Even considering the quality of opposition, we just aren't doing the basics right and don't look particularly organised. Ultimately I suspect Forest will up it in the 2nd half and we won't withstand it, just my honest opinion. But whatever happens, I think we've performed admirably against a team two leagues above us where the gulf is vast.
Our defence will be weak as long as Connolly is a regular starter.

He may have an assist but CJ is having a bit of a shocker for me.
He’s been ok for me.

One counter where he didn’t have support and his cross was too deep, another where he had support, then Norburn decided somehow, that we didn’t need to attack.

Decent display but the worry is when a plodder like Wood can burn off your entire defence. We need another goal here.

Norburn certainly isn’t living up to expectations.

anyone got any of these working ? I just keep getting porn, not to say that's a bad thing necessarily.
If you click one of the links it opens a browser with the video in it. When you click play on the video it opens a new browser (that's probably your dodgy porn link!), close that immediately and click play on the video again. Eventually it'll stop opening dodgy links and will play the feed (usually third time lucky in my experience).

It's this back three thing. They leave it to each other rather than just knowing their jobs.

cheers. Yep go it working in the end, but was buffering for both our goals, but not for theirs !

Win or lose this is a much improved performance and if we can transfer that to the league form then we will win more than we lose…hope we do nt put 10 behind the ball here and try to hang on..we still need the threat of CJ and Dembele at pace and Rhodes always too dangerous to ignore

The trouble is we're playing a side who play a similar system. We don't get teams in L1 like that. As Hertford said we're usually faced with a team of clogged who stifle us.

Missed the first two goals but & from when I started watching we seemed to win possession then just give it away. Hoping to see some more goals for us as I’m wasting daylight in the Lake District. Saw the goals at HT COYMP

Already you can see the pattern of play for the 2nd half. With the best will in the world, we aren't going to survive 45 minutes of this kind of pressure, with our shaky defence. We need stronger outlets than Rhodes and CJ, as the ball rarely sticks with them.

And there we have it. Was it CJ that gave the ball away with a terrible pass?
