O/T Best Intro to a song ever ....

Cliff Burton did a Base solo called Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth). The start of that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Another vote for ‘Gimme Shelter’, which always remains spine-tingling.

An honourable mention also for ‘Hanging Around’ by The Stranglers. The subtle opening of Dave Greenfield’s keyboards & Cornwell’s choppy guitar, followed by the smack-in-your-face threatening growl of JJ Burnel’s Fender Precision perfectly captures a feeling of lurking menace & danger.

The Chain - Fleetwood Mac
Solisbury Hill - Peter Gabriel
Bliss - The Dudes (this would be my walk on music at the darts)
Just Got Paid Today - ZZ Top
Supermassive Black Hole - Muse

A fabulous sound. “Something Better Change” too. So many good Stranglers tracks. 77 and 78 were great years.
To me, DG was the worst loss of the pandemic. 😢

Smokey Robinson and the Miracles: ’Going to a Go-Go’
Gang of Four: ‘Love like anthrax’
Stones: ‘Gimme Shelter’
Just 3 of loads.
Forgot Joy Division: ‘Atrocity Exhibition‘
