O/T Best Intro to a song ever ....

Get It On - Trex
Pretty Vacant - Sex Pistols
Lay Your Hands On Me - Bon Jovi
The latter listen in front of a pair of decent speakers with good stereo imaging and at high volume.
Mind blowing!

Three come to mind:
Rock and Roll by Led Zepplin;
House of the Rising Sun by the Animals;
Roll over Beethoven by ELO.
Ha Ha I remember my dads ears pricking up when that came out (he didn't like pop music) as the opening 5th Symphony played, his look changed when the Chuck Berry guitar riffs kicked in 😂 👍

Papa was a rolling stone - The Temptations
Seconded - an epic arrangement & production.

Just a few that come to mind...
I Fought The Law - Clash
I Want You Back – Jackson 5
Song 2 – Blur
Just Be Good To Me – SOS Band
I Feel Fine – Beatles

Agree with all of the above.
Almost impossible to pick one so I'll settle for adding to the list.

She Sells Sanctuary - The Cult
London's Burning - The Clash
In Between Days - The Cure

Can't disagree with any of above, so I'll just add

Holidays in the Sun - Sex Pistols
Money for Nothing - Dire Straits
Blue Monday (7 min version, 2 minutes of intro) - New Order
School's Out - Alice Cooper
Blue Monday 👌

Maybe it's because I've had a couple, but currently listening to Wish You Were Here by Floyd and thought surely Shine On You Crazy Diamond is one of the best intros of all time, but would welcome other suggestions
.... its the longest intro ... the lyrics don't start till about 7 mins ..

Let's Work Together- Canned Heat
Up Around The Bend- Creedence Clearwater Revival
Anarchy In The Uk-Sex Pistols

Sweet Child O Mine.
Rock n Roll, Zep
shine on you crazy Diamond
Thunderstruck AC/DC.
all favourites of mine, but I couldn’t really pick the best from any piece of music let alone my chosen few. For me ,music is about my mood, which will determine what my favourite would be at that specific moment !
