Wonder if Critch might put him in he was Rochdale’s player of the season age 34 and 6” 2 he should be at the peak of his career. I like Grimmy but for me he doesn’t dominate the box

Rochdale got relegated out of the league and i read on their forum that O'Donnell was ok but nowt special and he won POTS cos it was such a terrible season when nobody really deserved the award.

"Not easy playing behind a back 4 who at times resembled the Marx brothers..

"Good move for O'Donnell and for Blackpool too. He'll be excellent for the dressing room and I'm sure will be able to pass on some experience to the other players.

"Great clubman, but not my favourite keeper by a long way. Has been very poor in some games, though excellent in others, though too few. Can only see him warming the bench at Blackpool.

"Some ridiculous comments here, though not unexpected. One of our best players last season and him being dropped was one of the main reasons we were relegated.

In general if you play well you should keep the shirt , I accept at times there will be tactical reasons to change things . If O’Donnell is selected and plays well the same should apply.

How much have Burnley paid for Grimmy s understudy ? Wasn't G at Maine Rd from the age of 9?
I,m convinced he will be one of the Mighty,s best assets , let's wait and see.
Other g/keepers have been bought cos if he has a stellar season he will be poached . Bet Critch thinks so as well

Burnley have 5 keepers now. Trafford U21, Vigouroux, Peacock Farrell, Muric, Franchi U21.

Muric must be on his way out.

Put Grimmy in nets or it kind of pisses on our chips get them young or at a loose end then sell for a profit model.

Casey was PoTS at FGR, but many on here want to bin him, so what's the award worth?
Only saw him in one game but he scored for us, we have had very few goals from CB 's.
Critch will be best placed to judge if he has improved enough to go straight into team, but seems pointless running down his contract with loans.

I think you may be right, both Critchley and Brunskilmentioned ODonnell in there respective radio lancs interviews.

Why? You been watching training every day pal?
No but I've seen probably 95% of the games Grimmy has played for us and I rate him really highly. I'd be very surprised if the manager who signed him and brought him into the side, and for whom he played extremely well over a period of time decided to stick him on the bench in favour of a 32 year old from division 4.

If we'd signed a lad from Div 4 who'd just been relegated to the conference, you wouldn't expect him to come in and take say, Marvin's shirt would you? That would be odd. If Grimmy has a mare for the first 10 games and O'Donnell is playing well, then yeah, maybe but I'd be absolutely baffled if it started like that cos in my humble opinion, Grimmy is one of our better players.

There's also a business case for playing Grimshaw, in that he's contracted until 2026, and may have a sell-on value, whereas O'Donnell is contracted until next summer, and has no such value.
