Fcuking ell bet you are fun on a night outIMO ice bucket shows complete disrespect to the manager. I don’t want a clown as leader either. Or anyone who has previously been sacked.
That should narrow the field down a little bit
Your the one who ain’t wired up right .Sorry I meant Isn Evans
Can see that absolutely inspiring the north stand, absolute mental pumps, if we in the north do it too they'll be about 1k knock outs.Duffs fist pumping routine puts Critchleys well and truly into the shade
Ice dunk and dad dancing: Cheltenham's wild celebrations
Cheltenham manager Michael Duff was covered in ice by his team after they were promoted, then showed off some cringe-worthy dance moves for good measure.www.skysports.com
It’s all a bit too much for me that dance routine.Your the one who ain’t wired up right .
Who you on abaht brotha ???????
I think Duff would be a good appointment
Aside from that video which was a one off I get the impression he’s a serious guy who would fit in well
Not a cat in hells chanceHoping Manning is the other we’ve asked to speak with.
Evo and Rosenior according to twitter.Hoping Manning is the other we’ve asked to speak with.
Keeping their fans up to date , admirablyApologies if this is somewhere else but here's the statement from Cheltenham about Duffers.
Michael Duff: an update
The Board is conscious of the speculation surrounding the future of Michael Duff and would like to update Cheltenham Town supporters about the current situation.www.ctfc.com
Tbf thats only when he's won promotion, if he wins us promotion I'll happily watch him do that dance all day. It’s all a bit too much for me that dance routine.
Big Evers would be my first choice
I think we’ll likely have talks with a good few potentials, so wouldn’t read too much into the interview with Mad McDuff.
I'd be surprised if Evo is interested at the moment. It’s all a bit too much for me that dance routine.

Yep just about to find out exactly what on Netflix....Stranger things have happened though.
Correct JJ it seems its a promotion thing.Tbf thats only when he's won promotion, if he wins us promotion I'll happily watch him do that dance all day
The guy with the long throw was Tozer who was bought by Wrexham mid season.Couple of issues with Duff one being the couple of times I saw them it was primarily long ball with some guy winging massive throws into the box. The other is the name not entirely comfortable with our manager having the surname Duff, maybe I’m shallow. Doesn’t strike me as a particularly charismatic individual, could be wrong, but been in game decades and I wouldn’t have a clue what he looked like.
There is always a firstIf Phil likes the appointment, God help us.
I like to be in bed by ten with a hot water bottle and my cocoaFcuking ell bet you are fun on a night out
GT,I want someone who can crouch in a tight suit like AVB
Definitely an illegal approach,Just been thinking, in his interview BM said Villa “ went about things the right way and conducted themselves properly “ no they didn’t. If they had gone about things in the right way, they would have contacted BFC and asked for permission to speak to Critchley , as we did with Cheltenam, not a late night phone call from Gerrard saying come and join us. Critchley, as we know didn’t do things the right way either with another late call to BM saying I’m off, sort the terms with Villa. He’s gone and after the last few days I’m glad, but the more I think about it the more annoyed I am. I had better stop thinking about it.
My interpretation was, basically everyone in the world of football, players, coaches managers etc are ‘tapped up’ before a move and there is literally no point getting irate about it anymore, as we’ve probably done it in the past and maybe even during this recruitment drive. Like you say I was a bit surprised about how blasé BM was about it, but the fact he was told me it’s the standard.Just been thinking, in his interview BM said Villa “ went about things the right way and conducted themselves properly “ no they didn’t. Well that would be nice! I firmly believe that if NC releases a statement, if only to the fans he apparently loved, then for me and hopefully most others it will be bitter, but a lot better than this radio silence we are getting.

seems a very loyal player/Manager
Or Plum?Damien?
Maybe he doesn't get your juices flowing Because you haven't seen his team play or know anything about him. Easy enough to research these matters before you dismiss poor ol DuffyDon’t know enough about him or how he plays but it doesn’t get my juices flowing.
Good read, that. The ‘no knobheads’ rule will upset one poster who seemed to be angling for a job on his staffMichael Duff single-minded as ‘Little Cheltenham’ take giant steps | Cheltenham | The Guardian
The uncompromising manager has no time for egos at the League One club on course to eclipse their highest finishamp.theguardian.com
People thought the same about Holloway. I think his personality is a strength, more of a Klopp than a Guardiola which suits us.Duff doesn't seem intelligent enough to be a Championship manager IMO or to see through Ben and Simon's long term plans.
Just comes across as a bit of a neanderthal wide boy who is the "gaffer" of a bunch of lads. Not the right fit. Would be very surprised of he is appointed.
My thoughts exactly….Duff doesn't seem intelligent enough to be a Championship manager IMO or to see through Ben and Simon's long term plans.

You don't need to be a mastermind to be a Championship manager ; you do need football intelligence which his results at CheltenhamDuff doesn't seem intelligent enough to be a Championship manager IMO or to see through Ben and Simon's long term plans.

suggest he has. He will need to interview well though.
‘Clearly an idiot’?No they don’t…
There’s some absolute muppets who have managed to gain success in L1 & L2, simply by generating a reasonable team spirit and getting the basics right.
This Duff fella is clearly an idiot… He dances like some kind of mentalist, clearly doesn’t have the respect of his players, lacks proper discipline and relies on stupid games in training.
It might go down OK with a bunch of daft kids perhaps, but when managing decent professionals you need to bring much more to the table.
I'm basing it on...‘Clearly an idiot’?
Are you basing that on him dancing like a dad when they’ve won promotion and having ice poured over his head by his players? Harry Redknapp had water poured over him during an interview whilst at Spurs and I’d say he had the respect of his players.
As for ‘stupid games in training’ - heaven forbid a manager tries to make it enjoyable and different.
Get him in.
1. Similar sort of thing Holloway did away at Forest but with a cone on his head and he did more than ok with the resources available.I'm basing it on...
1. Idiot Dancing - Encouraged by his players (who are also clearly a bit stupid) - It's quite possibly the stupidest thing I've ever witnessed from a manager.
2. Ice Bucket over the head during interview - Lack of respect from his players (Harry Redknapp is also thick as Mince)
3. His inability to articulate himself beyond the basics
He clearly relies on monkeying around as opposed to professionalism and IMO that's not a formula for consistent and long term success and particularly not as you step up through the higher levels.
Ian Evatt please.... At least he's got a brain and actually understands what he's doing and why it might make him successful.
1. Putting a cone on your head and jumping around a bit in front of the fans is completely different to going into complete mad man mode, which is clearly a regular thing for him, considering the players were egging it on.1. Similar sort of thing Holloway did away at Forest but with a cone on his head and he did more than ok with the resources available.
2. Harry Redknapp must have been a piss poor manager who struggled to gain respect from his players to manage at such a poor level throughout his career
3. The interviews I’ve seen of him, he seems to come across very well.
Evatt took barrow up from none league - great achievement which is probably on par with Duff taking Cheltenham up.
Evatt took Bolton up but that was minimum expectation.
I’d be happy with either of them.
1. Wouldn’t say it is.1. Putting a cone on your head and jumping around a bit in front of the fans is completely different to going into complete mad man mode, which is clearly a regular thing for him, considering the players were egging it on.
2. Redknapp is a dinosaur and wouldn't get a look in nowadays... Not that you'd ever see him dancing like a ** regardless
3. When you say "Comes across very well" what do you mean? I'll grant that he can speak on a basic level ... But he certainly doesn't give any sense of gravitas or tactical nous.
1. Of course it is.... Holloway was in control of himself and just having a bit of fun.... By comparison, Duff looks completely out of control and almost childlike state.1. Wouldn’t say it is.
2. He is a dinosaur now, I’m talking about when he was at spurs, about 10-15 year ago. I wasn’t talking about him dancing, I was referring to a player chucking water on him, which you describe as not having the respect of the players.
3. He comes across as a knowledgeable guy in his interviews, to imply a guy who finished 4th and then won the league with Cheltenham, before leading them to the best league finish in their history has no tactical nouse is a bit ignorant to be fair.
Your last point contradicts half of what you’ve just said.1. Of course it is.... Holloway was in control of himself and just having a bit of fun.... By comparison, Duff looks completely out of control and almost childlike state.
2. I think football has moved on and become much more professional in the last 10-15 years in any case, which is why we've seen a lot of the old dinosaurs really struggle to compete. To my mind Duff's methods hark back to a bygone era.
3. Simon Grayson has achieved numerous promotions to the Championship, but he's still lacks the kind of tactical astuteness that is required at the higher level. As I said, that kind of team bonding and employing the basics well is all that you need in the lower leagues... There's a huge chasm between L2/L1 and L1/Champ... Please link an interview where he comes across as knowledgeable about the game and provides some kind of tactical insight..
