'Operation No Phuggin Chance' is still on!!!!

You'd be clutching with that argument. I'd counter argue that we should have scored at least 3. Score the penalty and the game is dead. They got a few late chances because we got nervous at 1 0. They don't happen if Lavery scores.

Worth pointing out that the vast majority of the North stayed on to insist on a fist pump from Critchley, so maybe the majority of the real world doesn't pay much attention to the negativity.
I agree with your first para. That was to put the game to bed.

Bit disingenuous your second para though. The real world was only a couple of weeks back that Critchley was getting roundly booed by pretty much the whole of the North. Or are you trying to say that wasn't the real world? And talking of this real world, it was barely a few weeks ago that you said we'd come 5th.

Probably the best home record in Div 1 this season so it cannot have been that bad for season ticket holders?
Worst away form I can remember though, long way home for away fans when we have played so shite!
That we have such a good home record and disgruntled ST holders, says much about the style of play. The fans try, but the atmosphere has evaporated.

Not everyone wants NC gone, but I can’t imagine there would be any fan saying he should stick with his current plan.

Lincoln and Oxford's game in hand is against each other isn't it? Certainly adds an additional level of hope if you are so inclined.

I would not be confident in the slightest if we ended up making it though. It would most likely take 3 wins on the bounce from now, so that'd be 5 wins on the bounce in total heading into the play-offs - which would be pretty good form.

With that in mind, cue a Carlisle win on Saturday!

win on Saturday and I am heading up for the Barnsley game. 450 mile round trip but worth it. Went up for Cambridge on Sat and actually felt worse from the win - i felt like it was a dead rubber and our play off hopes had gone. But last night's win and the table looking as it does going into Sat, my optimism is back on.

‘CJ, pass the midget gems up the front’, bag goes straight out of front passenger window. Dale left at his mum’s house on the way as kept drawing penises in the condensation on back window and Critchley not having any of that on the journey, whilst Connolly sensibly reads the map and tells Neil how good his driving is.
I presume Dembele is the midget gem?

We might yet.

Our support at home over the last few games has been shite. No support at all. It's better away even though there hadn't been much to shout about.
Wiz, I'm a bit confused and hoping you can answer this question, as I couldn't make it last night.
Was it some in the north booing? And did NC go to the same set of supporters doing his (irritating to many) fist pump in celebration? The two things don't go together. Thanks

Funny things always happen in the last few games. Probably due to not being able to handle the pressure & expectations & also bottling it at the final hurdle! Some players don't want injuries before going on their family holiday and some know that if their team gets promoted, they'll not be good enough to get in the team. etc etc.
We can only do what we can do and that starts with beating a 2nd division team on Saturday. 🍊

Nope. A few round us in the South at half time were not happy.

The North were encouraging a fist pump after the final whistle.

We should go to Carlisle and win.

Then Barnsley becomes a big game and the atmosphere will be great so could scrape through and win that as well.

Would be a miracle but strange things do happen.

Surely Critchley has to go for it on Saturday🙏

Nah. Carlisle and Barnsley in the bag.

All eyes turn to Reading

Which simply goes to show how, the worrying reduction in the level of attendances we're currently seeing at BR, whilst clearly not a reflection of the results we've achieved on our home patch, has to be symptomatic, ironically, of just how desparately poor the quality of football on display at Bloomers has become. Because, in truth, it really has been shocking. As evidenced, particularly in more recent times, and somewhat worryingly, by the booing emanating from the home 'support' at regular intervals, and especially at the sounding of the final whistle.

Talk of qualifying for the play-offs, let alone successfully making our way through them, seems, at best, to be a tad fanciful - or, to adopt a somewhat more realistic appraisal, represents what could be described as nothing more than pure 'pie in the sky.' And yet, to adopt a slightly more positive tone, perhaps my rather bold pronouncements may subsequently prove to have been a little premature. I guess we'll just have to wait and see ...

At present, Blackpool, as a Div 1 team, are doing nothing more than 'treading water'. We've consolidated our place just below the play-off spots, by performing 'competently', and there is no shame in that, given the fluctuating nature of the campaign we've had. But, we must now take stock of our current standing, whilst also then analysing those areas in our current set-up where there is undoubtedly ample scope for change. And, further to that point, I think we are now at the stage where we can safely say the ball is well and truly in Sadler's, and, possibly, Critchley's, court.

Although the 2023/4 campaign still has a little further to run, I think we all know, as things stand, how the season is shaping up, and, as I type, it seems we're almost certain to remain in what I, personally, refer to as 'the quagmire', otherwise known as Div One, for at least another season.

This season, we have been on a huge learning curve and although there have been many highs, and lows, we have encountered along the way, it can only be hoped the team, and whoever is the manager, learns by some of the experiences we have had to endure on this rather eventful journey, and that, hopefully, in future, we avoid the various pitfalls we encountered as the campaign progressed - and continues to progress.

Upwards and onwards

One of lads said last night that we should be buzzing 3 points off a play off spot with 3 games to go and when you think about we should be…

However, it’s against a backdrop of boring and negative football built on structure and shape in and out of possession. We’ve been lucky in the end to the win the last two games 1-0.

If this is a promotion push it’s as far away from a rollercoaster or a “best trip”…

It’s more like mirror, signal, manoeuvre with numerous stops at the service station to drink from a flask we’ve brought ourselves to save money and regular toilet stop.

I feel a chant mod coming on...

"I wanna go home, I wanna go home...

This is the most boring, safe and predictable trip, that might still actually reach its destination...

I've ever been on."

Will all those who pronounced the season to be over be in the queue for Wembley tickets should it come to that, or does the hatred run too deep?

The singing fat woman down the road from me has just had a delivery of Strepsils .. hopefully they'll not kick in for a couple of weeks!

This is the big one.

The day that optimists said could come. It’s also the day that the ‘realists’ and pessimists might finally be proved right where we didn’t reach the playoffs.

I can guarantee that even if I didn’t see the match or the score, I’d know the result purely by who was posting by 3pm.

Hopefully Herts will be at the game, not kicking every ball on here. 😆
