Funny how the most votes has gone to midfield where we have an abundance of players (even if not talent) - striker for me and a bloody good one please!
I'd love a Brett type player - who knows it might be Lavery - but just someone who hangs around the box, knows where the goal is and scores more often than not.

Midfield has been our main problem for a long time now, and will continue to be unless we bring in some quality. We've lost the loanees, Virtue is decent but won't get you to the top of league one. Dougall is a good league one player, and I think Carey will prove to be. Beyond that, we don't know a great deal about whether Trybull or Morgan will step up to the mark. For me, we are still lacking a real leader in the centre of the pitch.

There is a case for most of those options tbh though, which is a worry. There's a lot of work for the recruitment team to do this summer.
Defender - we've lost Thorniley, and we were relegated mostly because of having the worst defence in the league. We need a big centre half signing.
Midfielder - already covered above.
Winger - We've lost Keshi, and Bowler, and really the only winger we have is CJ.
Striker - lost Madine, and probably Jerry.
Keeper - no Maxwell any more.

The only area I'm fairly comfortable with is full back - which must be a first at Blackpool. Husband, Lyons, Gabriel are all very capable league one players. Thompson may be, and I suspect he will do ok in this league.

a better centre back than anything we currently have (someone who is calm on the ball - of the same ilk as Ballard/Taylor-Moore)
a better centre midfielder than anything we currently have (classy, excellent in possession type - of the same ilk as Barry Ferguson/Fiorini)

will get us promoted

If/when we lose Yates, we would also need to replace - However, I am confident Lavery would score goals/Holmes could make the step up/Beesley would chip in.

Fact is Goals win games, defences in League One are bang average - ironically we've got the player who could get those goals!
