TLDR: Seating around the whole pitch.

Appreciate this is a 'pool forum n all but thought some of you might be interested in today's plans having been shared. Certainly will be easier to get to than the current shithole is for you lads, with the station outside...

It’s not even built yet….and it might well be a long long way off…..good luck to them but why the apparent attack on clearly Simon…oh and by the way we have plans probably well ahead of Oxford’s.
Because some of ours fans are dickheads.
We've a wealthy owner but no where near the riches of others is already 18 Million down and prepared to keep funding.
Yet they pack want more and more and if someone is spending why aren't we, I don't know at times whilst Sadler bothers.

Looks really nice the Oxford plans good luck to them but just because my neighbour has a better garden than me doesn't mean I want the same.

Are there any start/ finish dates or it just a proposal?
Yeh, so with our lease ending at the Kassam in 2026, we HAVE to move on, so this will need to move quick, plan below. Planning is never simple though, so we'll see. It's ironic that the land we have agreed to lease is a 3 sided plot... 😅 Bit of legacy to laugh about hopefully...

Perhaps they’re hoping you won’t notice it’s a different stadium.😉

I've already seem some photoshops of the Kassam in the new land... 😅 Imagine. Annoyingly I live in Manchester so I tend to end up at Fleetwood, Wigan and alike more often than a home game... 🙈

It is planned to be built in Kidlington which is hardly in the city centre…mind you nor is the current ground.
Kidlington is best known for being where a lot of International( and maybe more local) Pilots receive their Captain Qualification…well my brother in law( SIA) did….and it is ( or was when we visited him during his training) a nice “ Village”.😂

Yes, it’s very annoying living in Manchester, even for Mancunians. 🤣

Important note. It’s significantly easier and lower cost to build from scratch than to renovate.

Would Pool fans really want a shiny new stadium if let’s say 20k or 25k away from BR?

Easier for Oxford to do this as there’s no real strong successful history at the Kassam

Yeh, plus you have a pretty decent location in the town walkable from the station. You wouldn’t wanna throw that away cheaply!

In Oxford, we’d never be able to get land in the city around all those listed university buildings. So these changes are relative to where we are now (which is terrible we can all agree!).

Wish I'd known about this before arranging the upcoming trip for the 21st Oct. I'm only going in order to tick off the Kassam. Already done the Manor Ground and would rather await your new place. Hey ho, at least the pubs will be worth a visit.
Gah sorry! Have to make it a trio of oxford stadiums, probably a first for number of stadiums visited under 1 club?!

Quick Q Neyo. We're staying Friday and Saturday nights at the Premier Inn near the airport. Are buses into the centre then out to the ground regular and straightforward?

Would love to help mate but i moved away to Manchester about 15 years ago. Been to Morecambe more than the Kassam since 😂.

This might be helpful, or perhaps post on yellows forum - sure someone could give more precise advice?

Main thing to know is the ground is out of town near the science park, so dont bother going there much before the match unless you wanna go bowling and drink crap beer. 😂 Stay in the city centre and find some decent old skool pubs mate.

Stayed there many at time at a National training venue. Beautiful little place close to Blenheim Palace.

There used to be a deportee detention centre there, assuming it still is.

Can't you just ground share with Oxford City?

It looks good Neyo.

But surely the artist's impression picture of fans celebrating a goal is a bit far fetched?

Used to know that neck of the woods really well, before, during and after the dreaded Peartree roundabout was built. Not a great fan of stadia without supporting pubs, eating places, etc but they are becoming the norm. The roads around there are going to be pretty choca on match day, although Oxford has been good for Park and Ride for 30 years to my knowledge.

Sounds like they have a short timescale to get it right, best of luck 👍

Nice to see something though.
Exactly. I knew we'd get some snark, it's inevitable on a 'rival' forum, but exciting, nobody wants to have to goto the Kassam, be it Oxford fans or you guys. Most annoying is the guy will bulldoze the ground, build houses and make an absolute fortune from it. Some owners proper take the piss ay?
