Peterborough v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 07.05.22

I understand some disappointment at our end to the season but some people seem to take it too much to heart. I'm not that bothered personally - which is easy to ay when i haven't travelled, but those who did travel did so knowing it's a dead rubber really, and players would be tried out etc. It's a jolly in all truth, a day out. We aren't the only team that hasn't turned up today. Let's not get all angry and worked up about it, we've hit 60 points with one of the lowest budgets, if not the lowest. It's been a great effort. Let's look forward to next season.
I think you're putting too much effort into covering up a poor ending to the season.

May aswell put the kids on now, not much interest being shown from the first team

What's the alternative? Spending money we don't have?
We do have it we choose to go the 2 teams approach of equal players rather than like some sides a stronger 11 plus a few with a drop in quality after that.

Wtf was cj doing then he had to shoot and his touch took him to the line and floats a useless ball in, fuck off.

We don't have enough to do what other teams do - which is why our budget is down the bottom. The two teams is the best way to spend our budget IMO. We can't compete any other way.

Has to be said if any of these are in the shop window they're not doing themselves any real favours so far. Come on Pool.

Not saying it doesn't have benefits but to advance we have to look at how we can do it, a better few quality players and a few more like Connolly who are adaptable might be a way.

You said if he's the answer you don't know what the Q is. Which seems poor to me, unnecessary. He was shaping up well prior to injury and is just getting some pitch time today. I think he's more likely to be playing for us next season than Ward - and I like Ward.
I stand by what I said. Carey rusty or not has displayed nothing to make me think he can have impact on the team next season. Charlie Adam, Richie Wellens could have come into the side at any level of fitness and would stand out. That's what we need.

We've had a lot to be happy about this season but the final few games has laid bare how much work we have to do this summer. We need proven quality and a bit of ambition if we are to kick on.

Let's leave it to the professionals eh? They bring in the best they can with the available funds. I'm hopeful we will be able to attract a bit better this season, having established ourselves at this level. Ballard and Sterling have both benefitted from being on loan here so clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea should trust us with good prospects. Carey chose us over other clubs because of Critch. We are now a club that offers a good platform for players aiming for the EPL.

Yes but Peterborough have bothered to turn up to play decent football.

No need for excuses it’s a load of pony so far from us.

I like Garbutt thought he did well last week and hasn't looked out of place today. Not sure why people clamour for his exit.
I'm a big fan but he is like Stewart, you notice their quality when they're in the team but you just know you're never gonna get more than half a season out of them. A real shame.

Good job we got enough points before the last 2 games because there's been no fight or desire in them, very poor end to the season after all the good work.
