Pilley Watch

What I don’t get is why you would “Flea Abroad” because someone has offered you £20K to find someone guilty?

It makes no logical sense whatsoever.

The offence was one of fraud, so it’s not like it’s some kind of gang land / underworld criminal.

The Juror was offered money (not threatened).

And why would anyone threaten or risk being caught for trying to induce a guilty verdict in any case? Surely if you were that way inclined, you’d have gone after Pilley himself ?

Sounds like a load of bollocks to me…
You dont know what type of criminal he is other than a fraudster which he has been convicted of. For eg, a drug lord wont advertise the fact, nor a murderer for fear of more investigations and longer sentence. Does anyone know his encrochat handle. 😂

No, but he has never struck me as a Drug Lord tbh.

Jury inducement / tampering is typically the act of a desperate defendant. It makes no sense for someone to induce a guilty verdict… By most accounts the trial was heading that way, so a case of put your feet up and await the expected outcome?

Why risk the prospect of a mis-trial unless that was your objective?

So just to recap, we’ve now had a juror being bribed and Pilley himself being threatened with a rifle from Afghanistan from a Trading Standards worker from Cheshire.

It’s like an episode of Footballers wives…

2nd week of my jury duty after nothing 1st week approaching the court I notice armed police all round the court building. Helicopter above. Go to the lift inside Preston and up to the waiting area. Announce 50 names from the jury pool to proceed to a court room. They normally select 18 and ballot 6 out. 50 in the court and the judge reminds us of our responsibilities. 3 men charged with drug importation, gun running. 40 or 50 million in drugs and cash. He then gave us all a list of about 6 or 7 names asking if we knew any of them? I thought F this. Filled in the form saying I was familiar with one of the names and wasn’t selected. All 3 guilty after about 6 week and given sentences of 20 yrs plus.
The reason I decided F this for a lark was because the lift up to the jury room was there for all to see from the court’s entrance and the trial I eventually got I saw on several occasions people from the public gallery in lunch breaks in Preston town centre.
I found it strange on my jury service that we went in the same entrance as the criminals and their family.

I took a detainee down there to do a 3 month stretch after going AWOL.
He went down there as a flabby and unfit airman
Came back as Ironman.
Did him good.
The guys (and girls) who do ‘A’ wing always go back a better soldier. I suppose that’s the point, really. I was in ‘D’ wing, getting discharged after sentence, we were left alone really.
There’s just been a good 3 part doc on telly about the Glasshouse, it was interesting to see the changes since I did it.
I was in as the Gulf War kicked off, so it was a bit unique in so much as the screws had to manage the fact that most of us were from units going to war, it was a bit tense ‘cos even though we were all obviously a bit off the rails, we were all gutted to be letting our mates down. Everyone was on edge, so they gave us briefings twice a day to let us know what was unfolding.

It’s utter nonsense obviously …if I’m trying to nobble a Jury member I go with stick, not carrot….your family member is getting done with acid etc…not “how about a lovely £20k that will appear in your bank account and is entirely traceable“ etc

By acid I presume you mean LSD, we could do with a hero.

Isnt it a holding prison, lancaster farms, garth, hindley or somewhere further would be suitable to cause more hassel for people visiting the bloody scoundrel.

So a guy in court today got 10yr and 8month for knocking down and killing a female who was a mum and a granny.
He was driving a high performance car whilst under the influence of cocaine. No licence and no insurance.
The judicial system is a ** joke.

It seems the only ones who dont think its a joke are those working in the legal world. Why alter a system when they earn so much money.

Why is Preston not suitable ?

It’s a prison and he’s recieved a sentence of imprisonment .
Preston is a local prison, I.e.primarily serves the courts. Once convicted usually moved within 6weeks freeing up space for the never ending conveyor belt.

Length of sentence, seriousness of conviction means he will be Cat B for the considerable future. Farms and Hindley are Cat C, more than likely in Garth.

No! I believe he’s on a merry go round being moved about for his own safety

Up in Scotland last I heard.
Be amazed if he is up in Scotland. HMP covers England, Wales + N Ireland the jocks have a completely separate service and cross border transfers are rare and invariably only if his conviction / any further charges are directly connected to their country.
