To be fair to Boris Johnson it is not just the Pandemic policy that is complete chaos, it is virtually every front of house policy they are in charge of whether it is education, defence, trade, EU negotiations, foreign aid levelling up.
The only policy that seems to be running smoothly is the by stealth asset stripping of Britain's few remaining assets to the corporate asset strippers of the US, and the Conservative Party's billionaire backers that hide all their billions in offshore holding accounts.
What we are being left with is a pariah state whose word can not be trusted either internationally or by our own British citizens .
Yes every country in the world is fighting a desperate battle against the Johnson Variant of Covid-19 which is absolutely more infectious than previous versions but only the UK chose to let thousands of potentially infected carriers fly into the country without restrictions because of the desire to get a publicity stunt.
The shambles of the travel lists revealed as the UK moves Bulgaria to the green list when a day later Bulgaria quite rightly bans the British from travelling there.
Somebody said yesterday that the Government is deliberately letting the NHS collapse under the weight of the pandemic to justify further privatisation in the very week the government passed a bill to encourage further corporate and commercial take over of services.
We cut foreign aid going against our own law to do so.
We have an Education Secretary who undermines teachers at every opportunity while being so incompetent he goes to court against education authorities for closing schools just days before implementation of a national policy to close schools.
Our supply chains are broken with sporadic shortages appearing left right and centre in our shops and suppliers.
British grown vegetables are rotting in the fields because our Government did not see that making it more difficult to bring workers over from Europe might create a problem. The result is we are importing more from the EU-was that what was supposed to happen.
The Health Secretary tests positive on a lateral flow test with the Johnson Variant, describing his symptoms as minor. Even this shows incompetence- lateral flow tests are only supposed to be used by asymptomatic patients, not by people with symptoms. Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak then try to pull the same sleight of hand truck that Michael Gove pulled ( where has he disappeared to by the way?) because let's face it there are great publicity opportunities to be taken on Monday as restrictions are lifted only for the fury and outrage to force them to U turn pretty quickly.
The lifting of restrictions in itself borders on insanity as Johnson Variant cases explode in numbers, hospital cases and deaths are rising at levels not seen since the last wave brought on by waiting too long to lock down. Any pretence at following the Science has been abandoned as 1200 internationally acclaimed scientists warn that Johnson's policies are a danger to the world.
Meanwhile we have a Prime Minister trying to stoke back the flames of racism encouraged by himself, his Home Secretary, and numerous Conservative MPs just a few weeks ago. At least the football allowed us something in our nation to be proud of as our team showed pride, collective unity and a willingness to work together towards successful outcomes unseen in this nation since the Brexit vote.
Plague Island certainly. But what is the underlying problem, is it Covid, is it Brexit, is it Xenophobia and racism, is it selfishness and greed, is it intolerance and prejudice?
The answer is that it is partly all of those things, even Boris Johnson is merely a product (all be it one of the most vile, corrupt and evil examples).
Where this country goes from here is not certain but it's very future does not look good at the moment.

I must admit, I was sat there thinking… it’s a bit on the warm side, I might pop into the back garden in my shorts and sit in the shade.

I’m sat here, the birds are singing, the sun is shining, my fourth consecutive self-isolation is just about over…

I was feeling so positive about a future of freedom, national pride and Nigel Farage…

Thanks for brightening up my day 👍

Some very valid points made there by Cat.

Should be a walk in the park for Labour to win the next election. You’d have to be a pretty incompetent opposition option to not landslide it against that list of woes

Walk in the park for Sir Keith and wots her name?
A well dressed sloth that can hang steady in front of the camera for more than 5 mins and smile ought to win a landslide.
If you read that list of disasters that Cat lays out there is no excuse for an opposition is there really?

Well unless we are saying the electorate are stupid?

Jeremy Corbyn's Labour was founded in that very principle.....

And to think Piers Corbyn is still dismissing the whole Covid thing saying it’s Government propaganda.

What an utter Knob.

I’m answer to the OP’s question about Michael Gove, he’s currently in the throes of a divorce and, according to a reliable source, is sharing accommodation with Matt Hancock.

Can I have an executive summary as I haven’t got time to read that although I can guess..
I’m in the back garden stil 28c after playing on the water slide with the grand kids all afternoon. Life’s for living get on with it instead of gazing at your navel

Boris is bad, everything is Boris's fault.

Just guessing (the ignore button on this forum is wonderful).

Boris Johnson has a brother and a sister. They don't run the Government, and incidentally, Jeremy Corbyn also has no say in Labour Party policy.
He doesn’t now granted but I’am sure he was the leader not all that long ago. 🤔

Well as long as you're being fair to Boris Johnson...

Educating the young adults of today so that hopefully they will make better choices than our generation has!
...and yet you try to tell us you don't take your political agenda into the classroom but here you are admitting to try to educate people to your own political beliefs?
Bet your fellow teachers can't wait for holidays so they can get away from having to listen to your political rants in the staffroom.

Amazed if he
doesn’t get swerved but time even by the other socialist leaning teachers. No one likes a sanctimonious Bore

You’re paid to teach the curriculum not to try and impose your own political views on children
Yep, in the past he's denied doing that!
Amazed if he

the downside is he's likely to post more on here. It's a fair trade though. I'd rather he spout his vile abuse on here than in the classroom.

Where have I said I teach a political agenda.
In Science we discuss climate change. It's not contentious at all to discuss what we have failed to do as a generation and what can be done to limit the damage of man made climate change. This is on the GCSE syllabus.
We also teach the skills required to identify biased sources so that they might have a hope of forming their own conclusions rather than believe what the press tell them to believe.
As a form tutor we discuss human rights based on the UN charter- which part of that should we not teach, and yes it includes treating refugees with decency and respect rather than hatred and scapegoating. Perhaps you would prefer it if we did teach it the other way round.
We teach about equal rights for all, regardless of sex, religion, race or disability- Again which part of that should we not encourage?
We teach respect for the weakest in society encouraging students to collect at Christmas to provide hygiene and food parcels for local charities-it should not be necessary in the 21st century for schoolchildren to be providing such items but because of the failure of our selfish, capitalist society there it is-and no I don't say that to the students. I am perfectly capable of knowing the difference between politicising an issue and teaching what is morally undeniably correct. Just because you can't contemplate the difference does not mean that an experienced teacher with years of training and experience can not either. The six headteachers I have worked for over thirty years know far better than any hate driven, right wing obsessives whether I can do my job professionally. None has ever complained but still you repeat over and over the slur with no knowledge but your hatred.
Perhaps you don't think we should be arriving to teach our children to be better citizens with more information, less bigotry, less racism, less cruelty than we were when we left our schooling. I and just about every teacher in the country would disagree.

You see, even in that post, rather than just explaining about the curriculum you still bring politics into it twisting it to your agenda..

So much hatred from the playground bullies levelling their ‘vile abuse’ 😂😂😂 at Cat.

Collectively too fecking thick to have worked out that the simplest solution would be to ignore his posts if you’re so offended by him. You’d have to forego your pathetic machismo, of course. Therein lies the problem

Last time I looked he had a brother that does though. 🤔
Of course! I knew there was some reason for the country's woes. No I know, it's because a former leader of the Labour Party had a brother (wow!) and - get this - the brother isn't a member of the Labour Party.
When you think about it, that sort of inside info is incredible.

Why ignore when you can point out his hatred. You're not the sharpest tool in the box are you? Is that why you stick to one liners?

Surely, whilst it was amusing for a while, ‘tis about time the o/p was unmasked as obviously an undercover Tory agent.

Repeatedly comes on here, spouting like a broken fire-extinguisher left too long in the sun, yet seemingly impervious to the fact he’s convincing no-one 🤨.

Obviously a right-wing plant trying to expose the tactics & paranoia of the extreme left to ridicule, which in fairness he’s done most successfully.

Not particularly a problem for me personally, as I think pretty much all current politicians all full of BS, but the wheeze is now wearing a tad thin.

Your work here is done, so perhaps it should be back to GB News, Farage, Boris et al & a couple of port & lemons down the Con Club for you, you scampy Cat….

The hate and ignorance is coming from one poster now and it is not me!
why do you use the word "now"? . Take it that that's an acknowledgement that your o/p was full of it's usual bile and hate and you simply don't like me pointing it out.

I'll ask the usual question which you never answer- which part of the o/p is factually incorrect.
I do hate the fact that we have a racist, corrupt, and criminally negligent liar as a Prime Minister. Anyone with a shred of morality should feel the same.

I’m glad I left school in1977.

Vile abuse, with all that climate change and tolerance. We didn't vote for Brexit to be tolerant to others.

For a teacher you're not very good at structuring paragraphs.

Oh another note are you even a Blackpool Football Club supporter, or do you just like spouting the same old tripe on a football message board for the hell of it? I would love to know your thoughts on the upcoming season and what you make of the progress so far during preseason.

Er nope.

Next.
