Players who hardly played for 'Pool but became cult heroes

Interesting in the UTMP_ podcast that they said 'Bob Harris only played 19 games for Blackpool but quickly became a fan favourite for his dedication, commitment and work in a tangerine shirt.' So, which other Seasiders players hardly played for us and yet are still talked about today.

Seamus only played 9?! Wow time dulls the memory, again.

Which is probably why I can't remember the little midfield bloke who scored in every game. Lee Collins?

But for ratio of talk against games played the Costa Rican lad must win, even if not a cult hero?

How many games did Eamonn OKeeffe play? Can't be that many. Even cheered when he scored against us.

Aidrian forbes, remember him getting absolute dogs abuse at times (he wasn’t any good to be fair) but the last game he played he got a huge ovation and every time he touched the ball the atmosphere went up a notch.....seem to remember him taking a shot in that game and the ball almost clearing the kop roof.

Nigel Walker got a hat-trick for us on his debut but never managed to score again in his next 9 appearances so was sent back to his parent club.

Just seen on WIKI he died in his 50's from cancer a few years ago. RIP Nigel.

One who was a cult hero to be, who never actually played for us was that Estonian player Indrek Zelenski.
Got a few excited when he was about to sign for us before his lack of a work permit put the kaibosh on him arriving.
Why did we get so giddy about an Estonian striker? It’s hardly a hot bed of talent. I remember is but not why we were so excited?
I guess Rapey knew how to keep out ambition as low as possible

Liam Dickinson

I think he bagged a brace in two consecutive games, maybe one of them off the bench.

We all thought we had the new Nicholas Anelka

Melvin capleton
Seconded - went to watch us play Bamber Bridge in a preseason and Melvyn was in nets. We stood behind the goal, had a chat with him and then as they lined up for the kick off he turned to us with a massive grin and said 'Enjoy!'. He didn't have the best game as I recall and I think we got beat (it was years ago and my memory is awful!). Lovely bloke though.

I'll get pelters but I liked Elliott Grandin. He was inconsistent but on his day was mint.

Think I was just in awe of us having like continental players. Only other clubs, bigger clubs had them.
I always liked him as well, a bit of class on his day, he played over 50 plus games for us though.

What's the limit on games played for us under 25?
Anything around 50 doesn't come in the category hardly played for us also liked Shelvey in his short time with us.

Another for Dylan Kerr and Jason Kearton. Also really liked Wayne Gill as a fellow baldy 😬
