PNE AWAY ….Sorry another thread!!!!!

Surely our football club should reward the best fans rather than part timers who pick and choose which matches they go to
Bit of a wide assumption re picking and choosing which games and calling people part timers.

For the record I have watched and followed BFC for the best part of 60 years and since 1977 have had to make a round trip of 120 miles just for home games. I have literally travelled well over 125000 miles just doing home games in that time and for many of those years a fair number of away games until recent years….I bet you could easily addd another 40000 miles to those home games and that excludes alll our Cardiff and Wembley appearances. All of this excludes the previous years attendances.
Excluding the boycott years I have had a season ticket since I would guess for 30+years consequently but now yes I do choose my games but only because I no longer feel up to a 120 mile round trip on a cold wet or even lovely evening game so I have missed the games v Stoke,West Brom and Middlesbrough at home as I travel on my own.Nor have I done any away games so far this season and cut back on them a few years ago so like I said in other posts I am happy not to use my ST as a must have excuse for the PNE game and let others get a better chance of getting one.
I suspect there are many ,many like me especially if they are in my age group who make decisions about going to games wether they be at home or away but it doesn’t make them any worse supporter( or part timers) than those who are up to and able to go to all games.
This will be the first ( proper) Preston away game I will be missing since the 1960’s,apart from one I couldn’t possibly attend as I was visiting my wife’s family in Penang( Malaysia) back in the 1980’s,so yes it is a disappointment in many ways but at least I have had the pleasure of being there when we went up to the old 1st Division and they went down on that famous night which I very much doubt you did and probably never will.
Before you slag others off as part timers maybe you should take a deep breath and think again as to why they can’t make every game but will do as much as they can.

The best fans?
I presume you mean those fortunate enough to be able to go to every game because they’re lucky enough not to have any other commitments?

It is quite amusing watching this internicine feud.

You probably will get a ticket Rambo in TF front row where u will be quite as a mouse 😂😂😂
Just not worth the effort & getting a banning order.
Used to go to Bloomfield Rd with my best mate & his dad when pne were away .
Never had anything against Blackpool.
Rovers is who I hate like half the pne fan base .
Well they are the nearest team to you lot.😉

I think there should only be two sales stages.

1) ST holders who were ST holders last season who must have gone to at least one away game this season after and including Cardiff City.

2) All ST holders who have been to at least one away game this Season after and including Cardiff City.

It’s impossible to be fair to “everyone” but I think that is the fairest I can come up to to date and time is moving on.

At least anyone who knows they are not getting a ticket can get one by “hook or by crook” from Preston connections.

Oh, so fans who don’t attend away games should get priority over those who have spent thousands this season going up and down the country, including mid week games? Midweek games meaning they’re losing out on days at work etc.

This isn’t the fairest way to do it, this the fairest way which gets you a ticket.

People I know who have been up and down the country all season missed out on a season ticket last year due to the 4K cap.

All big football clubs delegate away tickets on an away “points” system. It’s the modern world and rewards loyal away fans with first dibs on tickets.

But it seems, as normal, we have the same self righteous fans on here who believe they deserve a ticket because they go at home.

Giro…I would guess you probably have that on your site..and every other club.
If you are amused by that then you are as bad as them and despite your connection I expect better of you.

I would go for
1 - Volunteers.
2 - free loaders who demand complimentary tickets.
3 - Disabled STH
4 - and last as they get everything they want for in life, OAP STH.
5 - OAP STH friends and family.

All I’m saying is, Blackpool rules my life. I prioritise Blackpool over everything. People have the option to do this, they just don’t choose to.

TE…I did the same myself many years ago(nearly 40 years now) in some ways( I turned down a very good job based in Glasgow…well it was at the time….because it seemed a long way from BR…but believe me it isn’t the best way to live your life….because for all the great moments there will be real downers..and football, despite what some have said,is not the B all and end of of life.
Just enjoy the moments when they are good and move on when they aren’t so.

Your missing the main thing every single club to acquire points you have to get a ST in the first place.

See I see where your coming from completely and maybe some day I will choose not to prioritise Blackpool over everything else but at the moment I do so I should get Preston tickets over others who don’t

Yes, we do have discussions on who should get tickets that are in short supply. But don’t recall anyone claiming to be a better fan because of the number of games they can attend.

So you would prioritise watching Blackpool ahead of commitments to look after someone ill or disabled?

Circumstance has a major impact on wether or not someone can attend every game.

Nah us Westies should have a selection competition based on the best tartan blanket, flask, walking stick, umbrella, flat cap & pile cushion, oh & who went To Barnet away. 😬
Jeez…well I was ok until that last bit( though I did do our very first visit there)

..and I sit in the South…so that definitely is a no go then😉

Now you know that’s not true, if you had a poll between your fans re beating pool or bbr I reckon it would be 90% beat pool, go on give me a serious answer obviously taking your dad and yourself out of the equation as you made it clear on your stance re derby games

The fairest way is to give first chance to the longest serving season ticket holders.
Btw I don’t fall into this group and will take my chance buying any spares

There’s been too many issues (Covid related) for length of ST to be used at this stage. Plus many STH’s rarely bother with Away Games.

Why didn't you get them assigned?

Never understood not doing. Everyone knows away attendance needs to be recorded for prioritisation etc.
For what advantage?
Oh a nobber game that has been moved when was the last time your away record has ever been used to get a ticket?
The Cods away springs to mind and it was only two games plus ST.

There are times such as this that do come up, so handy to have a record of what you've been to.

Could be big cup games with limited supply.

There's no reason not to do it, can only benefit you.

Yeah and if we ever get back to just long ST holders we could end up with away followings like this....

its funny you have been a member on here since 2020 with 35 posts .
Yet you have been a member of pne- online since 2007 with over 7000 posts .
I would guess you have been on deepdale many times so will no on data base or a member .
I've been on here since the turn of the century; the forum update occured in 2020. I'm not on your clubs database, although I have been to Deepdale many times, always when Blackpool are in town. 1970 was the most memorable, "When I was just a little boy....".

Yep it's not even an update really, it was a new forum, it's impossible to be on this site before 2020.

It's internecine. It's bad enough being a nobber without using big words you can't spell.

Yes I would! But that’s just me. I’m not having a go at anyone who has bigger priorities than Blackpool, I’m just saying that I’m a bigger fan and should get tickets that others shouldn’t.

It's about time the club rewarded those who travel long distances just to watch their team at home,
You get some numpties who can't be bothered going to games because it's too cold outside.

It should be season ticket holders getting first priority and that’s it. Forget the away game nonsense. Most people buy multiple tickets for away games then their mates pay them for their ticket. Therefore those other folk who may have attended multiple away games won’t be on the system as having bought tickets so won’t be prioritised which therefore wouldn’t be fair. Best way to do it is just put them on sale to season ticket holders first

Hang on, my proposal ONLY proposes tickets for fans who have been to an away game.

Yes I think the away fans who purchased an ST last year in the lower league should be recognised.

Let’s face it, there may have been a 4K limit but it wasn’t difficult to get one was it?

It took many weeks to sell the 4K

The second phase of my proposal involves ALL ST Holders but AGAIN MUST have been to one previous away game THIS SEASON.

As for a points system……. “fine” apart from the fact the club should have announced it at the start of the season

It’s only when the Potential PNE Shortfall became apparent that individuals started booking away tickets on their own client reference number.

IE I booked 7 tics for SUFC and 9 tics for Forest away All on my single CR number and the club can’t “retrospectively” re-allocate them

I’m certainly NOT on my own there either.

Yes, since PNE home game, any tics I’ve bought I booked to the “individual respective” CR of the Season Ticket Holder.

Tell me the rules and I’ll happily play them 🙄

Once again, any ST who hadn't had an away game ticket assigned to them is just plain daft - there was always going to be one of game this season where it would be a consideration.

You can't just say ST holders as there's 8k this year, and 4k last year. Away attendance will be taken into account.
