Policing on a Saturday - roads and that

I know something was said over the PA last night about closing roads but as you can’t hear it properly in the North can anyone confirm what was said?

Also, given that we were kept behind at Deepdale for the best part of an hour earlier this year, I assume the same will apply this weekend?

Bloomfield Rd/ Central Drive junction closed, access to South stand via a signed route and no they won’t be kept behind. Apparently this is the only ground in the country where keeping them behind is a breech of human rights.🤷

Cheers, glad I asked as I would go down Bloomfield from Central Drive. I knew something was said but he always sounds like he is sat in jelly on that PA system.

Really can’t understand why they don’t get kept behind for 15 minutes.

As I said, when the question was asked the official reason given was ‘human rights’ we must be sub human when we go away.

So basically if you are a home fan in the South stand after the game you have to turn right

Fcuking idiots ...
As I said on another thread they seem to be doing everything possible to dissuade fans from attending. Diversions, apps that don’t work, membership has more restrictions than enough, e-tickets, the less said about them the better.

this cant be right Phil surely?
So you cant come out of the ground and walk say to the Bloomfield pub or to your car parked further up say on Park Road?

Assume the gate in the North East corner will be open then, otherwise EVERYONE is going to end up going towards Bloomfield Road.

Anyone who isn’t parked on the car park will be parked on the streets off St Annes Road.

So everyone from both sides, unless you are going for a tram or getting a bus on Lytham road, is going to end up on Bloomfield Road. Brilliant.

I’ve just watched a video of some clueless copper trying to justify this. we as Blackpool supporters are the ones that are being fucked about yet again in order to accommodate 2000 Preston fans!! yet over at their place last season the Preston fans were not inconvenienced one bit while we were kept in for an hour and had to dodge flying wheelie bins🙁

Was just about to type this. What type of operation is this? Circus.

“Plan your day around what we want to do”…
That’s kind of them.

I take it this red zone area is only applicable post game and not pre game?
Also as I understand it the big gate at the back of the north/east corner is open pre but not post game?

What does this exactly achieve? If you want "bother" either set of fans, wouldnt you just meet up on Seymour road or that Maudland Road?

Fair play to the Police and the Club for the upfront communication on this matter, I think you have to give credit where it is due and they are clearly trying to give all supporters plenty of advanced warning (as we've asked for) of the plans for getting both home and away supporters into and away from the ground.

Keep the Nobbers behind half an hour, that's 30 minutes less than we had to wait at a night game. Got home after midnight from a match in a city down the road.

So, I'm hopefully arriving at North Station circa 11.15 giving me time to walk to the ground. just hoping there are no leaves on the line and the trains are running again between Hebden Bridge and Blackburn. Should I divert via Chapel Street and onto Seasiders way to get to and from the ground?

Fans have been moaning about the lack of communication over the policing and now we moan when they try to make an effort?

What’s the problem ?

The problem is that these complete set of amateurs will struggle to put their "plans" into practice. See last season.

That may end up being the case, but I don’t see the point in knocking them for doing the right things ….
How is closing roads and making things difficult for home fans doing the right thing?

I suppose it doesn’t matter to those who are in corporate but it certainly matters to the real fans and local businesses who are in the area around Bloomfield Road

I’m talking about the communication being the right thing to do.

As far as the planned road closures are concerned, they’ve been agreed in consultation with supporters groups and seem pretty sensible to me.

It’s a pretty minor inconvenience to most fans, especially with the advanced communication and I don’t see any reason why businesses will be that badly affected.

Typical moaning fir moaning sake from our Victor Meldrew, moan arse fans tbh…

It is what they did at the end of the game last season without any notice so at least that is an improvement. Last season we were basically kettled down a side street with no indication of where we would be allowed out.

Why is the Field st gate closed after the game ? Let the nobbers exit back into the Kettled area where they came in ?

I can read last nights programme, I listened to the announcement in the ground.
I have no doubt Saturdays Road closures would be made available online / discussed on various websites so why do the club feel the need to send me an email from Blackpool police?

Lack of communication?

I have no doubt Saturdays Road closures would be made available online / discussed on various websites so my "moan" is hardly a lack of communication more a case of overkill.

TBH Mate... If you seriously think that getting an email that's trying to help people out is a reason to have a moan, then there's not much I can say to help you really.

Maybe just try focusing on enjoying life and making the most of it, instead of getting arsed about complete and utter inconsequential shit might help 👍

Given all the poor crowd control by Lancs constabulary, now they are telling us their "plan" it is poorly thought out & bound to fail, why is it so difficult for the hard of thinking plod.... I could come up with a better plan before breakfast, & I know nowt about crowd control, (neither do Lancs police)

What’s your ‘better plan’ then @Limechase ….?

That is fair. I am pleased they've improved on last year's terrible plan by informing us in advance of the terrible plan.

Credit where credit's due.
In fairness they’re on somewhat of a hiding to nothing really.

For me people are just picking fault for the sake of it. It’s a piss easy plan to understand, the police have gone to every effort across a range of social media platforms to ensure fans are well informed….

They do have to deal with a significant (let’s be honest about it) number of fans who are after bother…

What do people want them to do exactly?
