Pool fans you still Back Critchley???

The season isn’t over after 5 games so we need to be a bit more patient.

Today we had a makeshift defence against one of the favourites to go up so we were bound to be sloppy at the back.

Should things not improve in a further 5 games I think that’s when we need to start asking questions not now with an unsettled squad.

Yes. Just. No point changing managers at this point and we’re not the first team to ever struggle with an entirely new squad.
Bad day again but it’s only 3 points lost.
Lessons are being learned throughout the club with our new life after the Oystons. It’s painful now but we will get there

Not at this point. Reflecting on our start this season compared to last season and as much as this hurts to say Grayson is better.

Yes, if he sticks to his plan of building a footballing side. I’m prepared to be patient if I can see development for the long term.

My worry, after today, is that he’s panicked on team selection and we are going long every game. Not what I expect from NC with his credentials, and not what SS had in mind. That’s the difference between management v academy, as time is not on your side.

Madine’s selection was mind blowing. Yes he scored, but he’s a useless lump fit fit Div 2 at best. Yates wasn’t scoring, but at least he was linking with midfield.

I think SS will be looking closely again at Karl Robinson, as things at Oxford are not good.

Got to give him time, a disgrace today but a lot of new signings, need time as manager does. Man Utd appointed a manager in 1986 and it took him 4 years to win a major trophy, Liverpool 5 years ago appointed a manager that took a number of years to win a trophy. Stay strong stay supportive and trust the manager. 👍

Can you imagine if SS pulls the trigger this early and we get relegated with KR in charge. While NC goes on to get someone else promoted.

The team seems to be lacking in motivation, pride, organisation and lacking a leader on the field. We should have more passion and commitment especially at home. The coaching staff will have to change things around pretty soon or we'll be going where some of the players have come from Div 2.

Yes, because we're five games in. Things are not looking good and I can understand the impatience, but it's a new squad and the remit can't be: make an impression in five games or you're out.

I know it has been dire, but he should be given a chance to put the bad start right. Happy to eat my words if we're still looking this bad and having this conversation in 10 games' time.

It’s a bit daft to call for his head now.

Clearly errors have been made in the squad build during pre season. It was easy to get carried away with it at times, but most of us pointed out at the time the lack of grit and leadership in the team.
I still don’t understand the Lubala and Kemp signings as Ward and Keshi and being plonked in midfield and being made to look like amateurs. When really they should live and die in their ability in the forward areas.

This has then been compounded by a formation and style of play that really has no place at this level of football.

Critch has begun to worry me somewhat, what on earth was that Williams substitution all about? I thought the had some gold standard coaching certification. I’d be looking around for the receipt if that’s what they teach you.
More baffling was the ridged dedication to the formation, we needed goals in the second half! And we were still set up to play tiki taka nonsense.

I can see a way for him to get out of this, by bringing the correct centre back paring in and changing the formation rapidly.

If he doesn’t and is too stubborn to change we may struggle to get off the foot of the table before Christmas and that might be curtains for him.

I'd give him more time. I really think he's an excellent coach but needs an old wiley number 2 by his side, someone with proven experience of the lower leagues.
We've got a heap of young lads, all with potential on their side, who would benefit hugely from having an experienced captain pulling strings on the pitch.

Yes, wouldn’t be the first young manager to have a start like this and go on to be a success.
It’s very poor but we need to see this through. It’s still early in the season

Yes definitely still backing him, if we are going to start sacking managers following five match bad runs we will be going through a lot of managers and many of them good ones.

Lots of work for him to do though.

It's a yes from me. Ten league games minimum in my view before any change is considered. If no improvement after another five then I think Mr Sadler's patience will run out. At the moment, off the field we are like Juventus and on it we are like fray bentos...

Yes though not on form so far, give the new central defenders a chance, stop the sloppy goals and it'll give the rest more confidence. Why on earth we brought this match forward I've no idea. The Icelandic lad could have had a couple of weeks training with us and Ballard would have been available. Crazy decision especially with confidence so low to play a match against Ipswich at this point. No wonder they jumped at the chance.

I think he has about 12 more games to prove himself. He needs a minimum of 16 points. He has been given the resources therefore he has to perform.

What some posters (I'm struggling to call them fans) seem to fail to understand is that this isn't Football Manager, you can't just hit the reset button and load up another season.

There is literally hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of pounds tied up in this project.

I don't know what industries some of you work in, but I'm pretty sure the directors of companies in your sector are willing to give major initiatives more than a few weeks before tearing it up and starting a whole new one.

Yes, there undoubtedly has to be significant improvement in virtually every area of this whole operation, and some very honest assessments of decisions that are being made need to be scrutinised; but starting it all over, again, isn't an option at this moment in time.

It'd be naive to sack him now, but think he'll be feeling the pressure now.

Simon Sadler has backed him too much to sack him now and if he was sacked now we're looking at an entirely new manager with a new project.

It just wouldn't be feasible at all.

However, if results like this continue for 5-6 more weeks Sadler will have to make a decision, because relegation during these times would be catastrophic to the club.

10 games, if there is no improvement, he has to go. I'm not one for sacking managers after such a big turn around in players but he is failing at every level of football management. Who knows it could be the making of him, he needs to realise we need 2 top quality league 1 players before Friday's deadline. Hopefully BOS is sold to bring in some funds for a striker and central midfielder.

Yes ,it,s still a new and inexpierenced team, players and managment and will take time still got the 2 centre backs that we have just signed to put in the team, get another centre mid and maybe striker and we should be ok got to give at least till xmas

Yes. But as some have said he is out of his depth. The club needs to appoint a very experienced Assistant Manager - particularly someone who will instill discipline into the squad & someone the squad will respect. I am picking up the vibe that Critchley isn’t respected & lacks a harsh side towards the squad. This may come down to Critchley’s very gaping lack of a football career ( apart from a few years coaching kids).

Yep. He has all season.

We were awful today though. Same last week.

No. He can’t set a team up to be solid which is what you do when you’re not in form. It’s the very first basic as a manager. When you get appointed, you assess what you have, keep the good things and lose the bad, adding improvements on the way. He has failed in every area. His appointment was a gamble which has backfired

actually that is exactly how he is managing the team. Sign crap players, panic and replace them with different crap players. Loose canon I’m afraid

Worth considering that this season, like last season, may not be completed. Points per game could come into play when considering how much time Critchley may have.... a late upturn in form did no favours for Tranmere last season.
