Pool signings you just thought were average but turned out great

Feel free to punch me in the face but I never thought Brett was going to be the player he was when he came back, I thought another broken leg was too much, shows how much I know.
Brett went from someone, when one on one, you wouldn't break stride to go to the bar, to a lethal finisher.

I knew nothing about him before, but didn't DJ arrive with some less than complimentary reviews from Birmingham fans?

Just want to reiterate the point about Mark Taylor. Skilful, pacy, combative, great shot, could mix it when necessary. I used to love watching him from the West Paddock. Definitely an unsung hero, and one of my favourite players.
I can remember a game where he was on for a hat trick, shot on the half volley from the edge of the box, I'd say same place as Richard Walker's header v PA, it bounced on the pen spot, over the keepers head and came back off the bar. I was gutted for him.

Anyone remember against who it was? It was at the South end and I was level with the shot in the east.

Plenty of worthy qualifiers here.It doesn`t surprise me as a regular reader of this board how many were wrong initially about so many. I of course have been wrong about a few in my time too.

I have stuck my neck out this season expressing doubts about Yates as a Championship player and have got plenty of flak for that on here but dare I suggest it`s starting to look as if our highly respected manager might just be beginning to share my view on him.

The only other I have seriously questioned on here was not a player but the appointment of our previous manager, subsequent events speak for themselves on that one.

I’d have to say Keogh of recent years.

I thought he was going to come in more as a squad player with the a coaching agreement written into his contract. Instead, he’s become an integral part of the team and quite literally a man mountain at the back.

Still feel on edge when he goes off injured.
