Port Vale v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 29.12.23

1000+ away fans - they do not deserve this rubbish

These are the types of questions to be asked of the BFC management - so Simon do you think you can continue to get such a loyal away following with performances like that?

It is embarrassing.
Respect to the 1k+ nutters who decided going to that one was a good idea.

Remember

he won’t get rid thou He is here to stable the club , 4 months in , can you really see Simon sacking neil
unless someone takes him , then Simon like he does with players , sell them on make a profit and take the comp cash
my opinion should never come back , but I go off Simon’s statement to us fans after window shut , the running of the club is more important than any promotion
That's what is so worrying, I don't think the atmosphere will allow that though. It is going to get toxic and we said that would happen if it went tits up this time. Sadler doesn't like any criticism and dislikes supporters going against him or the manager.

Running the club is important, but I don’t think he meant running it into the ground.

I wanted it to work when Critchley came back, I really did. There's so much wrong with whats happening at the moment I don't even know where to begin.

It's unlikely that Sadler will sack him but I seriously believe its the only way to turn this around.

I'm not even angry tonight, another limp defeat was always on the cards, I'm resigned to another season in League 1, I think we're done.

Oh, and if I ever see Connolly in a tangerine shirt again, it'll be too soon.

What Critchley did at QPR suggested that you don't touch him with a barge pole . Sadler was the right guy to come in after the Oystons but being a supporter doesn't help, albeit he's wealthy to us as mere mortals, he can't fund the expectation. Sell up Simon and thank you for what you've done, we need a cold hard business man who acts on success or failure and on tonights performance, Critchley is gone !

Looked offside to me.
It was offside but second and third goals were just atrocious defending. you could say a bit of luck with the deflection for vale. Woeful perfomance, the whole squad looks devoid of ideas and confidence, and yet you go back just a few games carey was in form, dembele was on fire, all three available forwards looked dangerous, cj was having the time of his life, Kenny was imperious, Marv was back to his best, st james of husband looked like an international going forward and defending. so WTF has happened to turn it into that in the last two games.

My pet hate Norburn isnt the only one responsible. The whole squad just cant get anything right. We look absolutely clueless.

it all stems from a poor defence - can’t deal with pace or height .. utter shambles

These are the type of results that get a manager sacked
Not only does he face the imminent prospect of being given the boot, in certain parts of the Gold Coast he looks like having to contend with being granted pariah status. And, I'm sorry to have to say this, but that time really can't come soon enough ...

I would not give NC this window to make signings, we cannot afford to make signings a new manager may not want. Just stay up and build for next season and make signings hopefully early in the summer, Sadler will only sack NC if we lose quite a few more matches.

It's simply not the case is it? The two we had last season were worse, before we even bother to think back a bit, to Hendry etc. Weve currently got the best home form in the division. We've had loads that were worse.
No this Critchley era is the worst. Those managers had nothing to play with. Critchley has some alright players and he is sticking with failed tactics.

This is by far the worst manager in my lifetime.

Agreed seems we have spoilt fans .. I remember worthington etc .. awful football. However I did have a certain expectation this season .. and so far we simply haven’t been good enough

Last game of 2023

Better in 24?

I’m deranged because I keep hoping it will be!

Have a great NY weekend everyone and see you next year
It will need to be or we could end up getting dragged into a relegation trap once it starts affecting our home results

Yeh, but Preston lost so ha ha that makes everything ok.
Preston lost, dya hear, Preston hahaha
GOOD. They only won against Leeds because their striker went down like he'd been shot and got their keeper sent off.

It may be only little consolation but fuck it, it would have been unbearable if they won.
