The Senators did many venues in the Fylde for 3 or 4 decades.
That’s spot on!There's a blast from the past. Belle Vue Tuesday nights . Didn't one of them wear milk bottle ender glasses and look a bit like Sid Little
I never knew that - was ‘gutted’ when they stopped doing the rounds.Loved the Gutter Band. Seem to remember they stopped performing after a nasty crash in the tour bus that injured some of the band members?
What the fuck did you just make me watch?WOW!
Pure fcking qualityWhat the fuck did you just make me watch?
They were really good. I saw them at Jenks. It must have been 81/82. Not sure what happened to them either.Last chicken in the shop played Jenks at the end of the 70s. Never knew what happened to them.
What was the name of the band that always seemed to be playing in The Star?
Seen On the Edge and Glitterballs many times, lead singer and guitarist by any chance?Have been in bands all my life.. well 17 years old up to now 54. Loved all the above bands. Stiff Richard was my favourite. I joined up with the singer mole and we set up simply Richard. Great days, still gigin now with acdc experience, on the edge and glitterballs.
Small world & all that jazz herts, had a house on Lightbown after moving back from Mallorca in 92, when did you move out?I remember walking back home from the Belle Vue one Tuesday night in the 80's as I only lived in Lightbown Avenue off Whitegate Drive following one of those they're SO shit they're great night, Looked like brotherhood of man, terrible suits, ruffled collars and sang a stars on 45 medley, they were awful. I got so pissed I was staggering so much on the way back that I was laughing to myself all the way thinking I was going to regret it the next morning.
Drummer mateSeen On the Edge and Glitterballs many times, lead singer and guitarist by any chance?
Very good tooDrummer mate
Spent many nights watching them at the star and other venues. Went on to become Kiss of the Gypsy and recorded a successful album.Think I was probably there that night. Top local band back in the day.
That's so weird. I moved out in 1986, I think it was number 27. It was down the end on the right with a red front door. I loved that house, cost me 12.5k!! My mortgage was £80 a month. I used to nip over the wall in the ginnel at the back to get to Stanley Park to play football on a Sunday afternoon.Small world & all that jazz herts, had a house on Lightbown after moving back from Mallorca in 92, when did you move out?

The lead singer is Tony Mitchell, great voice and songwriter originally from Fleetwood.Me too !
I think the lead singer is still in the music business now, maybe in production
Am sure they tried to crack America too at one point

Ours was No2, which was the housekeepers house for the big cerebral palsy house behind it, which was the Lightbown House back in the day, quite a fascinating history to the Avenue. Martin Booker also lived on the avenue in the 90’s.That's so weird. I moved out in 1986, I think it was number 27. It was down the end on the right with a red front door.
