Ref, again!

Totally inept & blatantly biased today (yet again)
they rugby tackled us at least twice, no free kick.
Coulson won a tackle fair & square, won ball, free kick to them.
Hubby booked for telling assistant to move as in his way to take throw in, gets booked!
Dembele hacked continuously, no bookings or free kicks.
Any minor foul from us punished sometimes carded.
They did worse, nothing!
Grr I know we weren't great but....

The amount of times Dembele is deliberately hauled back because they can't cope, but no yellow defies belief.

Meanwhile we pick up cards for tackling people or in today's case, telling the fourth official he's in the way of a throw in.

Hubby was fouled then he kicked out after the foul was given in his frustration.

If hubby was booked for the 4th official incident why wasn't he booked when he was taking the throw in

Their player pulled Hubby’s shirt first but didn’t get booked for some reason. Hubby reacted and got booked.
What a knob the fourth official was when Hubby wanted to run and take the throw in, never seen that before.
He was literally stood on the line. Wanker.

Imagine thinking you’re that important when you’re a 4th official in League 1.

What a gimp and the standard of refereeing is shite.

Yep completely biased, you can understand getting some decisions wrong but to treat 2 teams differently for the same thing like throw ins taken from the correct place is pretty blatant.

Hmm. I’m calm now and agree with you all. The ref was perhaps the most inept we’ve suffered since God was a teenager.
So bad, I didn’t notice there was a lineswoman today! Curryman told me, she was good, (in between one of his naps).

The ref was as inept as they come today but no big decisions that majorly impacted the game.

Many mistakes that were close to unbelievable that anybody could get things so wrong. I said in injury time when their centre back went down holding his head for the best part of a minute that I'dbet that he wouldn't add it on to the minimum 5 minutes and I was correct.

That throw in they had by the corner flag, ended up being thrown at the 18 yard line. 2 mins later Husband tried to steal a couple of yards from our throw in, refs instantly tells him to get back. Had to just laugh at that point.
Yeah I noticed that ha watching on tele. Couldn’t make it up. Well you could with the refs we seem to get.

Luckily we’re not good enough anyway so it doesn’t affect us too much.

I thought at the time the 4th official actually moved his foot into the path of Hubbys run up as if to try to stop him

I noticed that as well

He was so inconsistent today. Some Terrible decisions
When choosing the adjective 'terrible' to describe just how bad something is (or was), when the word in question appears not so much at the commencement, but, rather, is inserted a little way on from the beginning of the sentence, and when the initial letter is registered, by the poster, by way of an upper-case, or capital 'T' (as in this instance - i.e., Terrible), would we, the readers, be correct in surmising that the hapless match officials, on this occasion, were actually responsible for a series of truly appalling rulings?

And what does Critchley do…. Just stands there and says nothing to the 4th official. If he was in his ear more, then the 4th official would be in the refs ear. Just look at the way Oxford played for fouls - the players surrounded the ref, their player going down like he’s shot banging the ground….. yellow given to our player, free kick. We’re too ** soft and need to grow some bollocks.

The refs performance today had nothing to do the with the result and where we are as a team performing inconsistently.

Moaning about the ref always clouds our own views of the team. That’s not healthy and looks like we’re make excuses.

Analysing the team’s performance and being honest about it should be the priority before anything else.

Unfortunately, moaning about individual players, the manager, the owner or the team in general can equally cloud our view of the officials!

Haha! Ok mate 😂

I wasn’t say have a good moan about owners, managers and players. I was saying sometimes we need to put our big boy pants on and actually question if our performance is good enough.
I get that, and our performances have not been good enough for most of the season, but that doesn't alter the fact that the ref today was atrocious and his decisions were so one sided it's hard to accept that he wasn't on someone elses payroll than the EFL's!

This to me is one of the key fixes for next season. Evans + shithousery / being streetwise must’ve gained Stevenage 7-9 points over the course of the season.

I think you'll find plenty are 'questioning' the performance.

Those that say we should concentrate on the team performance and not the performance of the officials tend to forget that although we weren't particularly good, being pulled back by an incompetent imbecilic referee and being punished for minor offences when the opposition are seemingly getting away with murder certainly adds to the poor performance on the field.

Twice we were down to 10 men due to violent tackles , one of which received a yellow card for the perpetrator, a situation which should be looked at, never mind blue cards, why should a team be punished for being on the receiving end of thuggery, and why only a yellow card for a dangerous tackle on a player which results in him summersaulting due to the ferocity of the tackle.

Sorry, but the ref was a first class clown, and yes I did rate the female liner who didn't once wait for a decision from the clown before using her flag, but made the decision herself.

Yes. He was still seething after the throw in incident and kicked out at their lad. Bit of a Dom Thompson moment from our Jimmy.

This player going off thing is a farce especially when he gives their central defender best part of a minute to decide whether he wants treatment and then doesn't add additional time on. Dembele twice got away and had space and was on both occasions taken out by Brannagan with no attempt to play the ball and no card given in either instance. To add insult to injury Dembele then has to go off the pitch for 30 seconds.

Getting fecked off with the treatment of Dembele game after game and nobody gets booked, it’s like the ref’s let them off as Dembele is a too good so they have to foul him.
