was at the Grand a couple of weeks back and was looking for the same. Someone said Vimtro Lounge on corner of Abingdon and Chursh st opposite the Winter Gardens was decent so we tried it. It's not fine dining but is pretty decent. It's sort of like an American Diner.Hi Foodies!
We are at the theatre next Saturday night to see Julius Caesar. Don’t normally eat in town, so would like recommendations for best restaurants in Blackpool?
There’s 4 of us (no kids!) and love good restaurants but have no idea in Blackpool.
My first choice but not for pre theatre as it’s more for a few hoursSapori Italian restaurant on Clifton Street is supposed to be very good based on reports
West coast owned by a Pool fanThe Bank
Amaro
Vimtro lounge
Ocean Palace

West Coast Rock
Good point StMy first choice but not for pre theatre as it’s more for a few hours
It's upsetting how shite the centre is for good food considering the amount of tourism it sees.Hi Foodies!

I think its slim pickings for the town centre in terms of quality.
Amaro is decent enough and close to the theatre.
That new street food Indian place gets good reviews but I haven’t visited yet.

It is the same people that own the Mandarin indeed; Michael Wan himself died a couple of years ago.Wok Inn opposite North Pier is quality Chunky. Michael Wan of the Mandarin is the owner & I always feel Chinese offers a socialabilty for a group.
It's not shite, there's a good few venues, many mentioned on here already. It's upsetting how shite the centre is for good food considering the amount of tourism it sees.
My best bet would be West Coast Rock Cafe.
Or Nandos
Yep...Italiao in South Shore is a popular one for us. Ciao ciao is class on Devonshire Road for eg.Is there anywhere away from the centre?
Michael has long since met his maker, but good choices, Mandarin is nearer and probably more suited for the kids.Wok Inn opposite North Pier is quality Chunky. Michael Wan of the Mandarin is the owner & I always feel Chinese offers a socialabilty for a group.
I think food choices and quality in general is poor in Blackpool, but I have say that Ciao Ciao is very very good and Italiano is pretty good as wellYep...Italiao in South Shore is a popular one for us. Ciao ciao is class on Devonshire Road for eg.
Yeah they are 2 of my favourite Italians to go to.I think food choices and quality in general is poor in Blackpool, but I have say that Ciao Ciao is very very good and Italiano is pretty good as well
I’m actually back in the UK in the next few weeks so would be interested in other places as well, but from memory….Yeah they are 2 of my favourite Italians to go to.
There's loads of places if people look around, more to come too. Can always be more and better but, for a town of that size there's plenty.
West coast rock is a mustHi Foodies!

The Thai on Topping Street is very very good.
La Fantana was always dependable.
I struggle after that????

He'll probably only need a bit over a grand for himself and the best part of a year if he does 1 a week.I hope you are hungry @Chunkylad . About 40 restaurants you need to eat in here.
If you don't mind going a couple of miles up the coast to Bispham, Terra Nostra on Red Bank Road is excellent if you like Italian.Hi Foodies!

Ahh that's one I wondered about, have you tried mi casa su casa and la piazza nearby? If you don't mind going a couple of miles up the coast to Bispham, Terra Nostra on Red Bank Road is excellent if you like Italian.
Haven't you read the thread naming Indians, Italians, European etc? Tons of options available of many types of food.Says it all when the town centres finest dining options are the choice of going for ‘a Chinese’, a pizzarea or burgers. Call me a snob if you like but it’s very limited
It’s still a very poor choice compared to other town/city centres. Only have to go as far as Poulton or Lytham to find a much better choice & quality.Haven't you read the thread naming Indians, Italians, European etc? Tons of options available of many types of food.
I’ll have thatHungarians is good
There's probably 50 decent places listed on here and more not listed, nowhere near that amount or variety elsewhere in those smaller towns. It’s still a very poor choice compared to other town/city centres. Only have to go as far as Poulton or Lytham to find a much better choice & quality.
