If this is true who is the mate who has given the muckers sight of the text ?
Wouldn’t make him either much of a friend or much of a pne fan collaborating with our lot.

As for the muckers putting this out there, whether true or not, what a stupid move that was for many reasons.

Embarrassing.
 
Just as easy this could be a pne fan on the wind up

Could it be a bpool fan ?

Your club signs a fan of your arch rival and most are sensible enough about it

But what if someone thought “ no way I’m having that “ and set this up because they don’t want him pulling on the shirt ?

Sounds far fetched but if not him then it’s a crap stunt to pull whoever it is, the lad clearly needs this move to work to get his career back on track
 
If it’s legit then the player deserves everything he gets but on the other hand if it’s fake which it looks like it could be then any abuse should be directed at the Preston tossers that have too much time on their hands 🙁 ah but no we have a sad element in our fan base that would rather use it to have a pop at a Loyal and passionate group of lads that have done so much for us fans, loads for charity and built the best supporters bar in the country .

On a side note, how did you feel about Barky playing in a Nobber shirt? Did you ever question his professionalism? He was every bit as much a Blackpool fan as Rhys is.

How anyone can get overly hyped about what is certainly a fake is beyond me. The very worst of social media. We pride ourselves in how good our support is, this really doesn't help in any way.

If he had any inkling of Nobber loyalty Jerry and Uncle Rich will take him into town and drink it out of him.

I thought we were having a quiet Summer but PNE fans crawling all over AVFTT and dreaming up fake text exchanges on Twitter. I suppose if we'd signed Ben Woodburn on a free, apathy would reign here too.

Just because the Muckers have done some good (in fact quite a lot of good) doesn’t mean they can’t be called out for doing something stupid too. Grown ups need to think before they start tweeting things that can cause massive issues. Especially when the evidence on which a tweet is based is suspect to say the least !

You’d think as a fan base we’d have learned a lesson in that regards !! I doubt the player and his agent would take too kindly to any suggestion he’s not a complete professional and the messages suggesting he’d score an own goal - whilst obviously in jest that sort of joke could leave a player open to investigation by the FA. It’s match fixing. No players stupid enough to even joke about it. It’s career ending stuff !

He had a very good game last night actually, maybe trying hard against his old team but he looked lively
 
Not really bothered if it’s true or not, a private conversation shouldn’t be aired in public.

But now that same group of lads have, put our players positions at the club in jeopardy and risked falsely tainting his reputation with the fans because they couldn’t engage their brains for 5 minutes.

That’s the sad part.

100% this, they have more than enough contacts at the club and should have shown a little more diplomacy. We're talking about a 21yr old who is just starting out on what appears to be a promising career. What would we think of our fans if we'd done something like this when Barky signed for them? It's childish and quite frankly embarrassing.
 
I hope he's discussing it with the club and deciding how to respond.

Ideally, his answer would be "It's a total fake. I never said any of that. I'm playing for Blackpool and will give everything for them during my season here - especially when playing PNE."

Less good, would be "I was roped into that by someone I thought was a mate. I was joking and got a bit carried away. I'm a professional, and will do my utmost to help Blackpool win every game - even more so, now, after this awful start."

I'm guessing he won't say "I meant every word of it. Call me Agent Williams!" 😂
 
All a bit dramatic this.

"The loan will have to be terminated!!!!!!!!!!"

"HEADS WILL ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!"

The feelings of a few fans aren't so important that BFC players and officials are rushing around conducting investigations and panicking about statements. A player has signed, rival fans are stirring up trouble, it'll wash over in a day or two.
 
The text thing is clearly a fake and there is no issue with him being a nobber. As I mentioned on another thread Jamie Carragher and Robbie Fowler were both Everton fans but they didn't do too badly for Liverpool

The lad doesn’t deserve this crap. What a crap welcome we’ve given him 😡
 
Guilty until proven innocent. Demands of a statement and then saying the response does not quite fit the agenda. All a little embarrassing really and they should put their hands up and say they have cocked up. This is really going to inspire the young guy isn’t it?

As others have said professional footballers over the years have played for the rivals of their club of choice. The clue ‘professional‘ is in the title. If you think playing for Liverpool when you have supported Everton requires anything less, you have a slate or two loose.

A proper apology and not a half baked/shrug of the shoulder ‘we will have to take your word for it’ is warranted.
 
Muckers really need to take responsibility for this. What must the lad be thinking of us now? This should have been dealt with privately not aired on public social media. That could have ended his career and the stuff they were quoting landing him in very hot water with both BFC, LFC and the FA. BFC will not be taking too kindly to that but I’m sure that will be dealt with privately
