Shame his last years were dominated by the anger of their fan base.

Whatever the quality of his decisions, he loved his club and deserved better than the chancers who came to Everton and then left, giving little and taking a lot.

He came across as a real gentleman and he was certainly Everton through and through.
My cousins who are Liverpool STH's always said he was very supportive following
Hillsborough.

A true Evertonian. Probably got grief because he wasn't wealthy enough to compete with the top clubs. Always seemed genuine to me.

The majority of Evertonians believed in him but, like the majority of clubs, there are always a percentage of morons and moaners who don’t appreciate what he did for the club.
