Rob Apter

I hope the lad breaks into our team at some point. Be nice to have a real home grown talent be a refular in the starting 11. Been a long while since that has happened.

I differ. I'd bring him back. He's excelled with his recent loans and is now excelling at Tranmere whose form is turning around as a result. He's our player, he's U21 so displaces nobody. We will suffer injuries, and we have a big job ahead to push up and challenge. He's good enough to compete for a place in the team, makes and scores goals, and is our player, unlike Dembele and Rhodes. Why run his contract down at another club? He could help our promotion push.

I suppose whether we recall him in January depends on if we can keep Dembele beyond January.
Unless Critchley has a change of heart.
We do need to extend his contract, along with several other key players.

Tranmere fans seem pretty unanimous in their praise:

At the end of the day the manager will decide.

If he feels he can be useful and can fit in he'll bring him back, if not he'll stay.

People say about Rhodes why would Huddersfield want him back as it's at a lower level, same here, although he's showing real quality looking above that level.

The people with all the info will decide.

What if Dembele got injured after January? We'd feel frickin stupid then.

Rhodes has not scored in open play for at least 3 games, must be crap so cannot see Huddersfield wanting him back. 😀

No goals in open play in league 1 in 3 games = no goals from open play in the championship in 6. He's useless, they may as well release him in Jan.

Love the comments on Apter on the Paddock website - Tranmere fans' site

Apter’s a donkey…

Have to agree with you about Apter, most overrated, useless donkey

Of course, you have to read the subtext as January looms

I think that noise coming from Huddersfield regarding Rhodes return in January, is possibly more of an attempt to gain leverage at signing CJ.

Rob is Dembele's replacement. He's a free role No.10. He's not a WB.
I pointed this out about 2 years ago but was frequently ridiculed.
I was thinking the same. Quick feet, can dribble, eye for a goal. If (when) Dembele go es he's a ready made replacement for that position.

Played footy with a tranmere supporter the other day. He likened Rob to Messi!! Cant wait to see him back in tangerine

He's turning into the real deal me thinks . Creativity and goals.
Against Mansfield too. Hell of a result if they hold onto that

Rob Apter (Tranmere Rovers) left footed shot from outside the box to the bottom right corner. Assisted by Brad Walker.

I see that Rob Apter scored again last night away at high flying Mansfield.
He seems to have scored or assisted in every game he has played in recently , since they decided to give him a starting berth.
A player who likes tricking his way past defenders and is willing to take them on would be a great alternative in some of our matches.
Dale wont take anyone on and CJ is limited to pace.

Correct. Dale doesn't take players on and CJ lacks control. And we need back up for Dembele.

I'm the one that supposed to bang the drum for our "youf". I'm beginning to think you're Rob's Dad. 😀
If you're not going to bang it loud enough, I have to step in. 😀

He's on fire and neither of our wing backs have his quality on the ball or finishing ability.

Made Whoscored’s efl L2 team of week after weekend.

3. Rob Apter (Tranmere) - 9.07 rating

Tranmere extended their unbeaten run to three matches with a 3-1 home win over Gillingham with Rob Apter vital in the victory. The youngster scored either side of half time as he netted with two of five shots. Two tackles, two interceptions, two clearances and one dribble contributed towards Apter's WhoScored.com rating of 9.07.

At the moment we don't really have anyone else to play in the Dembele role (Wier hasn't got a look in)
I think Apter can come back and slot in at no. 10 when Demebel doesn't play/or instead of him.

Rob Apter looks good enough now for a return to Blackpool. Dale has improved, but only uses his right foot, stops going down left wing, no crosses on his left, moves the ball back or sideways almost every time.
Phillips went to Shef Utd then returned a better player for the Pool.!!

Interesting that Critch said in an answer on Radio Lancashire about the January window that he'd sooner look after and develop his own players than buy someone new - so the Apter situation will be an interesting one.

If Rob keeps on doing what he's doing then January may not be too soon after all.
The Tranny fans seem to rate him as being above league 2 status so ...that should make him ideal for our league 1 status .
As someone used to wisely say many lifetimes ago ,'Football, it's a funny old game .
