I would think that it's a common courtesy to speak to the old club before leaving, you can't just walk out of the door.
Maybe Liam is a man of honour, and there aren't too many around in football at present.
If he is going to the Derby Board etc. to tell them of his decision, that's OK by me.
 
I'm sure Rooney, being a sensitive sole, will need a hug and a man to man chat. There may be good reasons but its not to let Rooney down easy.

They have these really clever things these days called aeroplanes that will get you to Dubai in about six hours

(On a serious note, this may be another reason why the announcement isn’t expected until later in the week)
 
According to Nixon the meeting with Rooney has already happened hasn’t it?

And the reports of him setting off to Dubai date back to Mid May.

Your comment calling it a farce without any knowledge of what's actually going on isn't helpful and its true isn't it, have only ever seen you appear on every Fleetwood thread to defend any slight criticism, yet here you are on this thread calling it happy to call it a farce without no knowledge.

At least have the same energy.
 
Rooney should be giving LR his complete blessing and telling him it’s the right position and place to further develop himself. Why on earth would Rooney want to try and convince him to stay at Derby when the club is in utter turmoil with nobody there knowing what the future holds for them?

Yous is the only comment I saw calling 'this lot' a farce, why call the club that.

Your comment is embarrassing given no one knows what's happening.

I only asked would you be so damning of Fleetwood under similar circumstances?

You should read more of the board then far more daming comments than mine were.

Fleetwood have their manager in place without any issues so why should I have need to comment? It’s a Blackpool board so people keep telling me yet people keep slagging them off why is that?

If you’ve nothing constructive to say don’t say it in my book.

I've read it and did a general post saying some panicking going on here.

Yours stood out as someone had replied to it and to call it a farce seems ott.

You say don't say anything if nothing constructive to say, but not sure how calling it a farce with no knowledge fits into that.

People are happy to believe the inside info that he's going to speak to Rooney, but not believe the inside info that it's done and he's just doing the right thing.

I’d bet another 100 on him now if betting wasn't suspended. That’s how confident I am that he is our man and there is just a back room process taking place before the official announcement .

There are pictures in the press of The Rooneys at Ed Sheeran last weekend. I'm not saying he didn't fly off to Dubai after the concert just he's not been there very long.

Different clubs have different plans and projects. Blackpool are looking for a coach more than a traditional manager and want someone with that background more so than a ‘name’. Blackburn and Burnley for example clearly wanted a name.
No one could have taken him from Derby last season given the circumstances there he likely wouldn’t have left. It’s not a case of no-one else wanted him or has ever wanted him but likely a case of the stars aligning at the right time for his career and our project.
Its unlikely he’d leave for many league 1 or league 2 clubs and obviously the direction our club is heading suits his desires.

Possibly he gets advance notice when an announcement is imminent so that he's able to cover it, the notice itself will be embargoed, but the fact that he doesn't have a notice isn't, so if he doesn't have a notice then he knows that nothing's going to happen for a couple of days and is free to post that.

Personally, I suspect this is just a case of agreeing compensation (if any) with Derby and the lawyers sorting out the paperwork before anything is announced, possibly slightly complicated by the club being in administration.

Are you sure about that?

He Flew out to Dubai in Mid March and as Insider says, was at Ed Sheeran last week, with reports also saying that he’s already met with Rosinior.
 
It seems that Rooney has indeed, returned from his holiday in Dubai.... So perhaps @EC-BFC 's mate has forgotten to open the curtains, this week. 🤣

Rooney doesnt have his uefa A or uefa Pro badges, unless he has completed them recently.

He was only allowed to be caretaker mananager aslong as a member of his coaching staff had theirs... that man is Rosenior, thats why he will want him to stay

That's not why he would want him to stay at all.... There's around 3 others who have UEFA A licenses, so it's a none issue.

Probably doesn't have any other info apart from it's a done deal and he's spoken to Rooney, it's likely to be tommorow.

Others have now said it will be.

Let's hope so, could be a good end of week.
