Sadlers response on the official site

One thing SS seems to of overlooked in his little rant... there were misgivings and concerns over the appointment of SG.... not as strong as this time granted, the relationship between fans and club was in its infancy and let’s face it a world away from where we’d come from, nevertheless concerns. The board got that one badly wrong!! Nobody’s perfect... it’s a fans forum, we all have the right to an opinion... deal with it Simon.
100% of fans will be backing the lads on July 30 ... 100% of fans are delighted with where the club is now and very grateful that SS took on the custodian duty but we will always ask awkward questions .

Interesting comments. If it comes from S.S. it is a rant; if it comes from us it is opinion. My opinion - in a sense never have we had it so good with a future that is guaranteed unlike a short number of years ago.

My opinion is Simon had a little rant😁...as to your opinion , we are agreed👍

SS will be annoyed at people saying that they will ‘rip” their season tickets up

He’s pumped and keeps pumping millions of pounds into a football club that loses money and he gives thousands of hours of his free time to the club to make us better .

He’s not daft . He knows that fans have a moan and groan and most of these critics won’t bother him at all. At the end of the day we all have our own opinions about things and are entitled to them. Some people like mashed potatoes whilst others don’t and prefer chipped. No problem with that.

The knee jerk criticism of the Michael Appleton appointment I suspect he understands as well due to the history .

However after all he is doing and the investment he is making for people to then say they are “ripping” their season tickets up ie not supporting the club any more will have really peed him off . Don’t blame him it must be pretty demoralising

Good post The concern is its Simon Grayson Part Deux The decision is made now and for me we have to accept it and back him
All I want to know is why Judas ran away the last time he was here as I have nothing saying at the drop of a hat, he won’t do it again - same could be said for NC though

MA has a hell of a lot to prove to me and the rest of the footie world and I
‘M finding the whole position not reassuring at the mo

And 100% of the fans are speechless about NC‘s run away - reminds me of guess who :

1. Simon Grayson who we reappointed and
2. Michael Applecart who we‘ve reappointed

Taking fans for granted is not on . Taking them for a ride is unforgivable — thinking u can come back without an apology defies logic

Still, I,m just a minor shareholder so what does that count for

They are just employees though . Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves .

Better job offers come along when they do well and if they think it’s right for them they take them .

Similarly if they don’t do well they get sacked

There are exceptions but in the main this is how it works .

We as fans give the backing and support because we want the team to beat other teams from other towns and cities not because we are particularly concerned about the managers job .

I think that’s right isn’t it ?

Your post has more relevance to owners not taking fans for granted which in the case of BFC currently is most certainly not the case

I'm not sure Sadler's apparently narky tone is the best way to address a fanbase that is struggling with the club's decision. If a lot if fans react badly, then that is an issue in itself. The feeling towards Appleton was apparent before he was chosen as manager. The club decided to appoint anyway, and needs to deal with the reaction a bit better, I think. I guess he doesn't have to explain hedge fund decisions to a customer base. If he did, he wouldn't tell them off for deciding en masse to disapprove, I'm sure.

There's a reciprocal responsibility though. He's done a lot already to earn our respect, so fans should respect the decision a bit more than many have done. The more extreme responses are a bit out of order. I was pretty dismayed myself at first, and I still think it's a bit of an odd decision. But Sadler has to put his money where his mouth is, and Appleton has impressed him obviously. He's risking his money on Appleton, so he believes in him. And fans of Oxford and Lincoln believe in him. So I'm just going to see what happens and trust the process.

That was a joke though. What process? Let's not pretend there's a process! We just interviewed some applicants and picked one, surely?!

It's occured to me that Appleton seems like a sort of football mercenary. He'll sort of go and fight anywhere, for anyone, ask no questions, just hand over the money and I'll grab my gun! Looks like a mercenary. But there's a kind of honesty to it, perhaps. Working class lad looking for work. I'll do anything anywhere. Man with a van. It's a good thing. As long as drives carefully.
They are all mercenaries if that is the word you want to use Guardiola, Klopp, Gerrard/Critchley, Lampard et al. Appleton left Oxford to go back to Leicester as an Assistant in a similar way to Critchley and Villa. "Man with a Van" is out of order and I don't think he is struggling for money. I think he has earned the right to coach in the Championship and in a strange way he might give us an extra bit of impetus and a different voice.

Karl Oyston?

MA was clear about the reason he left in his interview with Lancs. He also admitted he walked into the Oyston shit storm without doing his homework for which he got a bollocking off SAF.
I’ve admired the guys honesty since his appointment and willing to get behind him.
Time and results will bare out how good a match he is for us

Yes you're right. That wasn't a fair analogy. I just meant he has the appearance of those things but that doesn't make it an ok thing to say and I didn't explain that either. I did say it's a good thing though, that there's an honesty about him, it wasn't meant in a derogatory way, just that he's a hard working bloke looking for work and getting on with whatever jobs he gets. He seems like a good guy. A genuine guy.
