Season Tickets Available on Wednesday.

Has anyone bothered to look at the prices across League 1 so far. Some of the prices are...
Wycombe Wanderers asking 494.
We're actually not looking too bad against the rest
What it shows is the ridiculous cost of football even in the lower leagues - Wycombe charging £494, Jesus wept.

I'm sure loads will be commenting on the headlines prices, but I still don't think they put anywhere near enough effort into the pricing structure. It really could be used as a great marketing tool, offering different packages and add-ons to get people interested in upgrading. There's just no imagination used. I've said before, hasn't anyone at the club experience of marketing?
Who's setting the prices? Was it BM? Is it still him, has he gone yet? Either way the man at the top will have to be happy with it.

Very little imagination used here and no attempt to fill the stadium at lower price.

The only chance we have is based off success.

If you want to keep the ST card it's the same price as we paid in the championship 👎

I would prefer it to be less to get bums on seats but i don't have to pay all the bills (in fact none of them! Yay!) and we are talking maybe 5 quid less for a match ticket in a more ideal world, and I doubt that would increase sales to a really significant extent tbh. Demand is not particularly elastic. I think football is too expensive and players earn too much. I would like to live in a better world. A fairer one, with no pollution or bad people. Or relegation. Imagine all the people.... 🤓

Does the digital work with Andoid? Does it need a signal because I can't get one with O2? If you are a family do you have to have individual phones or can they all be downloaded onto one?

I think the ST prices are fair and i am happy to renew. Walk ups could be a couple of quid cheaper but understand they are trying to maximise away fan revenue with us the 1st away fixture fans look for in the main. £20 for the physical card a big own goal and the upgrades could be far more attractive.

Overall 7/10, you will always get plenty using pricing as an excuse not to renew as we have been relegated, that's just life and would be the same for every club.

yep, wonder if BST will represent the many fans and pensioners with regards to this farce of digital st and charging fans an extra £20 for having a piece of plastic to get into the ground. And surely saying that a digital st makes access to the ground faster is an outright lie.
I am staggered with this one and although I am not a pensioner yet and I am a smartphone user so it wouldn't be a problem for me.
It's a tax on people who are not tech savvy or don't want to be, or poorer people who don't own a smartphone due to cost.
Let us hope BST is all over this right now TwelveAngryMen.

Why on earth would someone need an excuse for not renewing?

Yes works with android.
Doesn't need a signal as its pre loaded into your wallet.
Yes can be downloaded onto 1 phone.

am I right in thinking that last seasons plastic cards were the ones we used for the previous season. In effect they could potentially be charging me £20 to retain the exact same piece of plastic. And we have five st's. Have I got to pay £20 to retain my six year old grandsons st piece of plastic. Farce.

Make bog standard season ticket £250-280, then make a more expensive option that includes add-ons. Then everyone can attend and those that can afford more can contribute more but get a few more perks. Those perks can include a limited number of upgrades to lounges and hospitality per year, which has the added bonus to the club of encouraging people to upgrade more times than their season ticket allows if they really enjoy it and think its good value.
This is pretty basic stuff.
And you'll moan about the standard of cheap signings.

So out of touch this lot

Lazy pricing structure again with season tickets too expensive as well as walk up prices too high

£20 extra to have a physical card and still no proper 12 month payment option

Empty seats earn the club nothing and we are going to have thousands of them
Context fella. Look at the prices for other clubs.

There's far cheaper prices in the championship, Blackpool also is one of the least wealthy areas. We've just had a dreadful season and need to get fans back on board.

So far, no real effort to get people onside and fill the stadium, the only real news we've had is people leaving and negative leaked news of a meeting.

I don't get the pushing people to digital ST either, I've never gone that way, happy with my ST card but am not paying 20 quid for one.

You literally tap the reader like using contactless payment, it'll be slower surely using a phone to scan...

Does having the ticket on your phone mean you can’t screenshot it and send to a mate if you can’t go? If so that’s why it’s £20.

That and the fact I’ll have to pay finance is my only issue the pricing is Oright.

Pretty sure your right that you can't screenshot it cos it works with the nfc on your phone

Ahh right I'd that's the case should be as quick.

But why do this this for what is clearly not a big issue, yet will annoy all those who don't want it.

I'd guess a majority of those renewing would probably go for a more expensive option, but those who can't will probably leave an empty seat when the club could be getting that £300.
I'd be very confident of there being greater take up of hospitality and the lounges if they did what I'm suggesting too, outside of the season ticket freebies.
Pricing structure is a marketing ploy to encourage fans to spend more in the long run, not less. It would increase revenue so there'd be better signings, not worse.
For clarity, I'm not advocating a blanket slashing of prices. You could actually have a £400 season ticket with perks and a £300 one without. I bet you more than half would go for the more expensive option if the add-ons were tempting. But more importantly, more people overall will get a season ticket, and overall you increase revenue because you cater for a far greater % of the fanbase.
£350 means there are some who won't buy, and some who would be willing to pay more. There's no attempt there to actually maximise the revenue at all.

Don't think the price is too bad to be honest. I just think it's a bit off putting for the elderly who are going to have to pay more if they don't have a smartphone or are a bit of a technophobe like myself. Can they not just update the card we used last season rather than issue a new one. I'm sure that's what they did before. And what happens if you have forgotten to charge your phone and it dies on you. Does that mean you can't get into the ground?

Is it illegal though ?
Yes. As it could put a disabled supporter at a disadvantage, purely through them not being able to use a phone to scan in. That would be illegal. As they haven't said if Chris has been replaced as DLO since his sad passing, there's no one at the club to assist with such matters

To anyone complaining.

£26 is a fair price for League 1, and a season ticket equates to £15-£20 per match depending on when you renew.

What would you do instead then? And how on earth if you reduce it, do you expect it to still make £ or break even? without having to pump more of your own £ in to keep the club a float.

Look forward to the responses.

Or you can’t get service which I can’t with O2

So, I’m disappointed that we have not gone cheaper to sell more ST’s. However, SS will have looked at our running costs and hopefully what it will take for us to bounce back next season.

IF he is going to invest and also retain our better players then I’m comfortable with the price.

For comparison, my local club Altrincham it’s £299 early bird for an adult and £320 thereafter. Match day tickets are £20.

It’s worth mentioning that our u18 price is actually cheaper than Altrincham, so credit to the club for trying to build the youth fanbase.

It’s also worth mentioning that Altrincham has gone digital and there is an additional charge for a physical card. However the charge is a nominal £5.

SS, please understand that we have a large number of more elderly fans who do not posses and cannot fathom a smartphone. Both my parents have dementia, and I would be happy to explain their journey. We will have elderly fans who may be on that same journey, but trying to live as normally as possible. The £20 additional charge is morally wrong and poorly thought through.

I think when you get the email link to download the tickets to your wallet you can share that email link so can be downloaded to several different phones. I’m sure I had both mine and my sons on mine and his phones last year. (Never used them though as I used the card). Only Issue with this is if you forward it to a mate and they fancy a free game one week as it can only be scanned once.

I don't know why anyone is surprised at this.

Walk ons should be 23 tops, pref 20.

The 20 for a card is nothing short of scandalous.

All smacks of a like it or lump it attitude.
Existing ST holders already have the plastic cards and the system is already / should be geared up to update the cards like in all previous seasons so why they now have to charge £20 for the privilege is an absolute fuckin disgrace, and you could argue it’s discriminatory for those fans who simply don't have a smart phone!

I don't get the issue people have with charging people more if they need a Season Ticket card option. There's obviously a cost to the Club for providing this option as opposed to the Digital Option and the people who should pay for that, is those who are unable to take up the Digital Option surely?

Why should those of us who are willing and able to opt for a digital season ticket subsidise those who can't? There was some nutter on here the other day who thought that we should all subsidise him and his dad's "Cardboard Fixture List"... Maybe we should give the pair of them a free shirt to go with it ffs!!

What cost? ST holders already have the cards and the system is already geared up against each membership so there should be no additional effort.
