The Seasiders brought in another three new players on deadline day, making it 12 incomings in total for the month.

Midfielder Ben Garrity arrived from non-league and Taylor Moore and Teddy Howe arriving from Bristol City and Reading respectively.

Howe, a 21-year-old right-back, will be a familiar face to Blackpool fans having played against Grayon's men twice last month.

“He impressed me when we played Reading in the FA Cup ties," Grayson told The Gazette.

“He’s athletic, quick, gets up and down the pitch and again he’ll add to the competition for places we’ve got.

“It’s been a hectic period for us, but people will realise we’ve been working extremely hard to change around the squad and the dynamics of it to improve it all.

“I keep saying we’ve got some good players so we’re not going to be a million miles away from getting that result that will really turn around our season.

“I’m not just saying it for the sake of it, I genuinely believe it because of the players I’ve brought in to this football club with the backing of the owner.

“We are very close to making things happen.”

Blackpool’s busy month of transfer activity ended with Moore arriving on loan from Bristol City as a direct replacement for Curtis Tilt, who made the move to Rotherham United.

A long-time Millers target, Tilt ended his three-year stay at Blackpool to link up with Paul Warne’s table-topping South Yorkshire outfit.

“Any players going out of the football club have had to suit all parties in terms of money coming in, the player wanting to leave and us ultimately having replacements,” Grayson said.

“We did the Jordan Thompson deal (to Stoke City) because he was available and we knew potentially Curtis could be leaving as he was out of contract at the end of the season.

“We had Taylor Moore lined up who I’m really excited about, he’s got a massive reputation and has started 20 odd games in the Championship.

“I had people talking to me on Friday night asking how we’ve managed to pull that deal off. Well, we’re showing our ambition.

“This kid is a good player and he will certainly enhance us.”

Interesting the club's stance now and progress with out of contract players. Wonder what pay structure we now have and how competitive we are when it comes to offering new contracts and whether we are a pull still to keep our better players at the club?

What's that about Jordan Thompson and Curtis Tilt?!

For me, the loss of Tilt is a bad sign. Why haven't we convinced him to stay? Bringing in Thorniley, Husband and Taylor Moore will have cost more than giving Tilt a decent contract. We could have managed without the three of them, surely? Who's behind these decisions?

Well he's had a whole week to assess fitness and find a formation that suits his revamped squad. There are no more excuses for Mr Excuse. If we can replicate the first 15 at Oxford over 90 minutes we may just get a result, especially if Howe and Moore are better than our static defence of recent games.

A week isn’t a long time to train and look at new players. He’s gunna need a few games to assess the new squad and hopefully find a settled formation. For now he needs to go back to basics

There’s a lot more to the Tilt story than just ambition and higher wages.

it was best for everyone he left.

I'm not concerned by the loss of Tilt. he was a very good centre half on his day but he also had as many days where he was last man and tried a Cruyff turn, he was a liability as often as he was great IMO.

He also came across as arrogant. From what I've read about Taylor-Moore, i'm more than happy with him in replace of Tilt. Not sure why you've mentioned Husband as they aren't like for like (square peg in round hole when he plays in back 3). Thorniley also comes with glowing reviews and they're both at a better age than Tilt when it comes to improving and sell-on value.

We won’t be getting a sell on value for Taylor-Moore he’s not our player! At the moment Thorniley”s sell on value has gone down but time will tell!

I didn't mean sell on value for Taylor-Moore haha, i read that Bristol City paid £2million for him, slightly out of our reach i think! Also that their fans see him as a potential future captain down there.

haha fair enough pal - it was a tongue in cheek response as I was sure you would know Taylor-Moore was a loan. I’m looking forward to seeing him play to be honest. The Bristol lot were in meltdown when we got him. I don’t know why they let him go but hopefully he will shore up our defence.

Tilt was good. When he was happy. We've also lost his pace from the back 3 / 4. Taylor Moore is a temporary stop gap til summer. I mentioned Husband cos he's cost us more money and we have other options. We have loads of players now, but do we have the right players?

I think we have a good squad now, one that is more than capable of challenging for promotion. It's the system that we haven't the foggiest on. I'm excited to see Ronan and Dewsbury-Hall on Saturday as I think midfield has been our achilles heel all season - mainly because we tw4t the sodding ball from back to front, so maybe we will play with the ball on the deck a little more.

Got to agree - Tilt's a tough centre half, yep he made a couple of mistakes but more than made up for them, we'll miss him for sure.

Read a lot of insinuating about Tilt without anybody giving any details of what supposedly went on!

I did mention it on the old site got removed and warned not to make accusations etc. Even though it was all true.

He was a very naughty boy. Club were sick of his antics, his head and truly gone.

Not so sure tbh. Lack of pace in central defence. No single obvious keeper choice. Two good looking new midfielders who won't be here next season most likely, and we won't go up this season with them. A hotch potch of strikers none of whom look like regular scorers, and what's the right combination? Too many players to choose from meaning no settled line up, still wondering how to piece it all together. Lots of players leaving at the end of the season and then work out what's left and start again? It feels a bit chaotic and a bit like quantity over quality. Signing a right back cos he played against us twice and looked decent. How have these players been chosen? How thorough is it? Not very thorough at all, it seems.

You can’t keep a player that doesn’t want to be here however talented he is. Voy is right that he will be missed and we’ve brought in a stop gap for the time being. It’s a shame but it is entirely understandable that we’ve sold him now.

We offered tilt an improved contract offer, and I presume it was reasonable unlike our previous owners would offer, but as he didn't sign it and didn't look like he would then agree the club did the right thing.

Personally I think we have got quality in this January, just need to gel.. guess time will tell. However a win sat is a must or grayson will be under massive pressure.

Agree with most of that. Most worrying are the loan signings in midfield. A key area we need to build on for next season.
