Simon Sadler : Critch : FFS !!!

I’m sorry but if you can’t get your head around the following -

How do you come to ‘poor teams’ after 3 league games ffs. We’ve won 2 (convincingly), been unlucky not to score 3/4 against Port Vale were it not for some poor decisions in the final third and we took a good point away from at Exeter - who will do very well this season.

I really can’t do much for you. Full stops can be tricky.
So can bollox.

I've banged about this for the last 3 seasons now . When we got promoted under Grayson, every player in the first team squad scored scored goals for us. Full backs, centre Half's and midfielders. In addition we had Brett, Morrell and Parker.
It is positive that the recent recruitments all have goals in their locker which will add to the likes of Marvin and Lyons. However it is clear that we 100,% require more fire power with new proven experienced strikers.
Also it may be an age thing and my memory is failing me but under Critchleys first leadership here, he was trying to get the players to play his style of football, passing around forever at the back with very little success. We were in lockdown , no crowds, football similar to what we are watching once again and I think only one win in the first ten games or so.
Then a lightbulb moment when he realised that system wasnt working with the players we had, he went to a 442, brought Madine in from the sidelines to partner Jerry up front and the rest is history.

And now he’s gone back to endlessly passing it around the back.

Imagine the state of this place if we’d lost a game or two, or even conceded a goal.

Genuinely embarrassing.
So if you lived almost 100 miles away like me would you be considering wether to bother on Saturday after the negative and pathetic first half on Tuesday.

I’d suggest if I were a Blackpool fan who was travelling 200 miles each game I’d have probably learned not to worry too much about results and performances otherwise you’d only see a handful of games. The number of lonely disappointing drives back to Lancaster far outnumbers the happy ones for me !

You need to give me the name of your lifestyle coach.
I have supported much worse Blackpool sides than this in over 50 years of supporting the pool, but losing never gets easier.

In 2006/07 Grayson's team had amassed 8 points in the first eleven games. That's 8 from a possible 33.
In 2020/21 Critchley's team had 4 points from a possible 21 after seven games.
We have to give it time, albeit the frustrations are reasonable. The criticisms seem valid enough but we have to give the manager more time to work on his ideas...even if we have to grit our teeth in the process.
For every team that start with 8/33 points or 4/21 points and go on to gain promotion, how many have starts like that and fall away during a season and end up fighting relegation or having a miserable season?
I'd suggest it's more of the latter.🤔

I remind myself on the journey to Blackpool it’s all about seeing my dad and that it’s just as much for him as it is for me. And then on the way back a mixture of result appropriate music and the promise of a late night Kebab if it’s a poor result tends to lift the spirits !!

Jesus Christ. 3 games in.

A fragile time for Critch. Hope he doesn’t feel the pressure of this nonsense. We finished 3rd in league one last time after a worse start.

I’d be amazed if there’s another club with a such short sighted, spoilt fan base.
Liverpool
City
United
Boro
Sunderland
WBA
Sheff Utd and Massive

Do you want me to go on?😉

All are forwards had the same problem for most of last season and played out wide. Lavery will score goals for us as long as he isn't used as the only front man and given the service. He had nothing on Tuesday other than high hit and hope hoofs to try and get onto.

I was just illustrating how it is too early to judge.

Well I feel better now, I hadn't thought of that.

Please stop over reacting, we have played 4 games and haven't conceded yet ffs.

However, the last 2 games have hardly been inspiring going forward and pretty much ALL of us would really appreciate it if the manager played Lyons on the right and CJ on the left, just to see how it goes for a couple of games. Thank you. It isn't the end of the world as some seem to think after every poor game, we justify need to play the wide lads in their best positions.

2 up top would also be quite good.

Awwwww🫶

Did they not have it in the back of the net at one point and with the referee giving it until the linesman stepped in ?

Closer to a goal than we ever were.
It was offside and therefore doesn't register as a goal or even a chance! Their actual ONE chance that was registered as being on target was imo missing too but Grimmy played the percentages and covered it.

Do you think they do not know this?

Do you think they're not trying to sign forward players?
Does not look like it, or they do not have the cash to splash, or are unwilling to splash it. We knew we needed at least two strikers at the end of last season with Gary leaving and Jerry likely to be sold. We have brought in an injured player in conjunction with Jerry's sale, but not a sniff since.

We might be unbeaten in 3 League games and have 3 clean sheets but:

We have played some poor teams and gone the last 5 l consecutive halves in the league without scoring!!

Lavery as a sole up front striker is not feasible!!

Beesley is nothing better than a Squad Player.

Joseph we signed as an injured player.

Bread Holmes is inexperienced.

Stop signing midfielders and sign a couple of strikers with physicality to play in Div 1, we have lots of “pretty footballers” in midfield but…..No fit strikers!!

You sold Jerry so you use the cash to buy a replacements for him and Madine. Plus an “Ellis Simms” type loan.

Sell “Back-Pass Dougal” and “Traitor Trybell” if you need to keep the cost/head count down, but stop buying midfielders we have enough!!!

It’s NOT “rocket science” why we are not scoring !

Rant Over!!!! 🚌⛴️🧡
Oh how I agree. What is the manager's obsession with central midfielders? How about a tricky winger and a striker or two?

Or they're aiming high and having to fight hard for the players.

Very effective use of italics and bold type. Really helped your point come across and didn’t give the air of lunacy at all.

We've already got a goal scorer who has been knocking them in for fun preseason scored a brace on the opening game his second a peach of a goal so don't see what the panic is.

Give him the service and Shayne will score which was sadly lacking Tuesday wouldn't have mattered who was up top.

I’m not convinced he will. Hope your right though🙏🙏

The problem is going long is exactly what he doesn’t want service wise

The problem here is if the defenders he's up against turned up the heat, he'd be toast.
If Brad Holmes was with another club and he was offered to us for a loan we would be saying he's worth a shot with his scoring record. He's done well through the youth system and Development squad. Critch used him in Div 1 last time and Dobbie used him at the end of last season, so he must be worth persevering with.

Can’t believe we aren’t giving him a go at the moment

You’re a proper weirdo fella. You really should just stick to organising stupid boat trips on the Thames. ‘’ ok’’
Absolutely all over the shop

Typical Tory. 🤷

They haven't replaced madine or Yates except with Joseph who looks like he could be out for some time if rumours are true. It's not like they haven't had enough time to sort this. The recruitment team need to get a move on 3 league games have gone. No more excuses I for one will be bitterly disappointed if no one comes in this week. We need 2 strikers including at least one big guy to give the defenders something to think about and us another option if we can't play through midfield.

It really is unforgivable signing a injured player. We've had horrendous problems due to injuries over the last 2/3 seasons, yet we sign another potential crock. We (supposedly) refused to buy a player (Colby Bishop) because of injury concerns who turned out to be one of the best players in the League. The club just look amateur.

It's absolutely mental isn't it? We're hardly even that close to the end of the transfer window. 3 league games unbeaten and not conceded + easy league cup progression with the (almost) reserve team. Really strange behaviour by many on here imho.

I can only conclude that last seasons debacle has affected our fans far more deeply than it should have 🤷

I won’t fully reply to that as the old saying goes:
“One will never win an argument with an idiot”
