So large sports gatherings are ok then?

... well we all know when the first spikes came - Anfield and Cheltenham - large groups and there is evidence that this is how the early stages of the disease was spread. The warnings are there and even if Blackpool would have won the Champions League I wouldn't have been outside Bloomfield Road dancing on a car with a flare!

I guess we will see when we win the Champions league in about 5 years 🤪

No worse than Bournemouth beach.

No worse than that rave in Brixton

And yes all completely out of order in the current climate.

Can’t wait for the pubs to open.

We clearly have thousands of inconsiderate people about right now and the Police simply have to crack down on them.

After the BLM riot the police have lost all control, theyv allowed these mass gatherings ,raves beaches street parties and Liverpool last night,2nd spike inevitable

Yes all shocking but looks like it's fair game now. Guess I'm the mug for following the rules.
Yes we’re are mugs.

There’s a bloke on BBC news right now saying we should allow raves because people are fed up staying indoors and 99% are good honest people who clean up litter and don’t take drugs. 😂

Someone needs to tell this clown lockdown restrictions were lifted 3-4 weeks ago so no one should be stuck at home anymore, as for people cleaning up and not taking drugs i’ll get my coat. 🙄

Cant blame the cops then as why should they put themselves at risk, where at the end of the day people have only themselves to blame.
I thought we were lucky that the virus had struck in the summer but now I'm not so sure.

The trouble is, those inconsiderate people will be the first in the pubs, and once they've had a couple, the social distancing, even at a metre will be non-existent. Pick your pub wisely.

The cracks in the conforming to the rules all originated in the Dominic Cummings business. When senior advisors can play fast and loose with the rules, it's then open house for the less considerate members of society to do what they like.

Mount for me pal. I could social distance in there even when it was busy! 😁

Don’t forget DC acted with integrity according to our excellent PM

As did Robert Jenrick rushing through planning permission to save a Tory donor £40 million that would otherwise have been paid to a Community Infrastructure Levy. Perfectly above board according to our Boris, who recognises integrity at every point.
With a large majority they think it’s ok to ride roughshod & do what they want.

Every single Dr, Nurse and NHS worker in Merseyside will be looking at this with a heavy heart.
This is exactly what a working track and trace app would have brought home to people. If it showed that 1 person with Coronavirus had been on Bournemouth beach or at Anfield and had come into close contact with a hundred other people then those facts would surely scare the bejesus out of others, you might see Social Distancing being taken seriously again.

Unfortunately we have relaxed the rules before an app is readily available, you can’t blame people from cities etc wanting to get out and about. Living on the Fylde is a double edged sword, others are envious of our long stretches of open air coastal freedom that we can enjoy without meeting that many other people, the long coast can swallow up thousands quite easily and you can maintain Social Distancing. However it does draw visitors in and they tend to congregate in hot spots and don’t spread the load like we do.

At least we know which areas to avoid, tourists are just tourists and do touristy things. An App would have acted as a deterrent for such behaviour.

Spot on Bottle👍 we are blessed here on the Gold Coast as the promenade and beaches stretch for about 14 miles from Starr Gate to Fleetwood (which l cycle every other day), and with the tide coming and going it gives a great opportunity to social distance, whether it happens or not is another matter.

But two wrongs don't make a right. I see your point but for people to follow the lead of Cummings when what he did was quite clearly wrong, just shows the utter stupidity of the people doing it.
If a leading figure decided to chance their arm and jump off a cliff, would you expect people to follow?
OK that's a more extreme example. But by following Cumming's example, people are being stupid enough to risk catching the virus and therefore risking their own life.
As I've said before, you can't legislate for stupidity.

Exactly. I wasn't making a particularly political point. Some people were just waiting for the excuse to do what they want and you can't indeed legislate for that.

You are not a mug for following the rules, because probably like me & Mrsgofor we are avoiding contact for our own health. If these 🤡s along with those on the beaches want to risk murdering their elderly relatives, on their heads be it.

Thatcher had a far larger majority than Bozo, she also romped 3 elections but the Tory’s got rid after the poll tax. Hell hath no fury like a Tory who thinks he/she might lose their seat, beware Johnson your days are numbered.

Wait for the open top bus parade........
There'll be tens of thousands of the inconsiderate fckers.
But at least if they are all in one place the crime figures will fall, maybe that's why the coppers don't intervene.

It shouldn't take an App. though. It's plain idiocy as far as i'm concerned. Those same Liverpool fans out last night will be the same 'proud' scousers screaming about the lack of support and funding their local services (in particular NHS) gets..... and then they're putting it under immense strain just so they can have a bloody jolly night out waving flags and scarfs. Liverpool fans tend to consider themselves to be champions of their local communities and very protective of it and their local identity - well last night they may well have just killed a few hundred of their own through stupidity and selfishness.

We can only hope otherwise we’re stuck with PM Cummings for another 4 + years

The lockdown has steadily become more of a joke,
Neil Ferguson
Everyone at the "Door"
Cummings
BLM
Bournemouth Beach
Anfield

The authorities have really no clue on how to deal with it, they remind me of that Iraqi general saying the Americans would never set foot in Baghdad, as American tanks rolled down the street in the background.

As if it's all an advisors fault for what is happening most under 40s won't of heard of him or give a toss likewise Duffield, Kinnock and that SNP one.
People have been breaking the Lock down rules from day one because we had a diet version of it in this country.

Just scrap the lot and get people back to work so they won't have time to riot/rave or go to the beach and in the process pay some tax into the economy.

Yes scrap it now. Everyone is doing what they want so might as well make some dosh for the NHS out of it.

Get Scousers back to work?
As Buddy Holly said.........Well that'll be the day.......

It was most predictable and the scousers will reap what they sew.
If only that were true, BSFF.
Sod's law suggests the ravers, beachgoers, football fans, protesters, who think they're exempt from guidelines, won't keep the virus to themselves; others will contract it as a consequence of these gatherings
Don't get me wrong, I hope there is no spike or second wave amongst any of the aforementioned groups (even Liverpool fans!!!). Seems factions of media are criticising some, but excusing others.

100% wizz, I was going say the same.

As a country I was massively surprised how the majority behaved up to the Cummings incident. Even kids I know were staying in and getting on with it.

It's been a big change since that moment, not so much with the Cummings attitude, but the PM saying the actions were perfectly fine. Lots of people who had sacrificed before that then thought f*ck it.

If I lived within a mile of Bloomfield Road and we had just won the Championship, I would be tempted to celebrate outside the ground. I think this site is full of either Saints or Hippocrates. I am sure we have all broken the lockdown rules on some occasion.

I'm sure none of us have absolutely 100% followed the rules. But I still think the vast majority have been pretty good at following them. Events such as the protests in London, Bournemouth beach, the raves and last night at Anfield are still a minority. Still doesn't make it right though
However, I would think fans of any team would have turned up at the ground if they had just won the Premier League after 30 years. It's not just Liverpool fans who would have done that.
As I've said though, it doesn't make it right.

Agree with you there. Certainly don't blame them for wanting to celebrate winning the league after 3 decades and I would probably do the same if I was in their position (Keeping distance and using your common sense)

Guess it's now up to people with some common sense to do their best to reduce cross contamination & hope that's enough to avoid a second spike. Unfortunately I can see carnage in certain quarters when the pubs reopen.

I see the Scousers gathered in numbers again last night - said yesterday - pleased for the players and fans - but a gloating Scouser is never a good thing!

I think you'd be in a minority if we wom the Champions League. Just a hunch
