So we are close

Nixon doesn't have a clue who the next Blackpool Manager is... There's no doubt he gets a certain amount of incoming snippets, but he largely talks in riddles to try and keep his options open, rather than hanging his hat on anything...

If Blackpool have decided, they will likely have been getting themselves organised for a Monday Announcement I'd expect.... There's some suggestion that it's Rosenior and hopefully that will be the case, but Nixon is just speculating on what others have said elsewhere.

I can see Rosenior in particular representing a fantastic role model for JG, who is already an articulate and really decent young man... So would imagine he may want to hang around a bit longer... Of course if silly money is on the table from Burnley (which I doubt) then he may be off, but I'm struggling to see it.

Rosenior would improve his game even more too as he was a right back himself 😉

I’m not convinced we are close … or as close as is being implied. Personally not expecting anything until late next week or the start of the following week at the earliest.
To clarify, I think some people who aren’t so close to the club read too much into the sudden tightening of the Rosenior odds last week…

Needs to happen next week at the latest imo Critch leaving us in the lurch has us on the backfoot

Doubt very much it’ll be another week… I’d be very surprised if we don’t have an announcement tomorrow.

Agree, the sooner it’s done the sooner we can start recruiting, assuming we have targets, we don’t want to lose them simply due to any delay in appointing a manager.
If you watched or read Ben Mansford‘s interview you will be aware that we have targets and have had for many months...

Needs to be sorted next week and I think it will, hopefully with Rosenior being appointed.

Something really gets my goat about this Nixon character. Always sniffing around, listed as involved on the anonymous player to come out thread in the odious Sun. Who feeds these people?

I agree. If it’s sorted, why the feck would we announce it on a Sunday?

Mushroom farmers... keep them in the dark and feed...

As others have said it should be a Monday morning announcement. If they've interviewed Rosenoir then I can't see them not offering him the job as he's hugely impressive and a very likeable guy. He might have other options though. If it's Appleton I will be gutted.
I try and imagine how I would feel with different names if the nobbers appointed one to give some perspective. Appleton and Duff wouldn't really worry me at all but Rosenoir would have me worried. Fingers crossed from me that he wants the job here.

Unless they interviewed someone older with more experience and promotions or/and keeping teams up under their belt.

Hes just more or less said on a tweet its Kompany just waiting for the announcement (regarding Burnley) so maybe that is what he ment about he thought an announcement would be yesterday. 1-20 looks a done thing. 8/11 doesnt look imminent

On the basis that Gary seems a bit more in the know than Glassman I'll take a positive from this that Rosenior is 1st choice with his agent trying to get him the best deal. The negative is his agent could price him out of the market.
I think Gary was answering the question of who feeds Nixon (and he’s largely correct)

Could be he thinks Rooney's off, and he's in with a shout at the top job at DCFC, there could be family reasons why he wouldn't want to relocate etc.
That makes sense, unfortunately. Derby would cut a big wedge of their pay Bill if they ditched Rooney and replaced him with LR. Hope not.

Interviews only finished at the end of last week and if we hadn't selected a suitable candidate I would have thought that the status of the interview process would still be ongoing whereas the status is complete.

I would imagine we have been going through the finer details of any contract with the chosen candidate and agent and because of that I wouldn’t really expect to hear until early this week coming.

Still Rosenior for me 👌

Id prefer Duff or Mellon

Do we know if the interviews have finished?
