So, which player would you most like to have been

when i was a kid i wanted for some strange reason to be Alan Hudson?!
I remember trying to model my game on him but my dad bollocking me afterwards because i was slowing the game down but obviously didn’t have the class of hudson to get me out of trouble and invariably lost the ball. It lasted two games at the most

Definitely Glen Hoddle, I shaped my whole game and hair on his. Sometimes it came off, other times I just looked like a poser!

Because I've always been crap at the game, but wholehearted (at least for 20 minutes until I was knackered), I'd want to be someone gifted skills and vision.

But also, to use the awful modern phrase, put a shift in.

Trying to think of a Pool player to illustrate. I think we've generally been quite lucky - most of our lazy strollers weren't that great anyway and so you wouldn't want to be them anyway. And most of our players of, shall we say, limited ability have generally given their all, so you can't call them for that.

However one disappointment for me will always be Kevin Sheedy. Class player, with one of Chissy's left foot wands. Total CBA when with us, wasting talent.

Tony Waiters...

If only I could have dived to my left I would have been a half decent goalie, but had some kind of mental block that stopped me diving to the left. Weird.
Maybe you were dropped on your left side when you were a baby?

Was never an Everton fan but as a kid in the seventies watching mod, Dave Thomas did the biz for me. Proper old school winger, socks rolled down, no pads, gets the ball takes on the full back gets to the bye line , left foot cross to bob - goal! Easy this football game, nothing to it ehh 🤣
