Stevenage v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 03.02.24

Stevenage have been consistent so far. When we played them in October they were 2 points above us. They have the divisions joint top scorer in Jamie Reid and the least home goals conceded. Seems a tough nut to crack yet we did beat them 3-0 and they have drawn half their home matches. Depending on what our forward options are, I am optimistic we can get something here.
 
Hoping Critch will pick a winning team from the start instead of insisting on warming our best performing players on the bench..

Wouldn't surprise me if Gabriel starts as a sub after his great performance at Bolton

Please Critch prove me wrong..
 
Just got here, decent drive.

I'm the only one in the car predicting a win. 😬. My record isn't great, can't remember the last time I saw us win away. 😲
 
He’s got the players. He knows their strengths and weaknesses. Now he has to set us up to play our best team game and win. No excuses. We are capable of winning and we must win.

I don't mind the look of that team to be honest, great to see Gabriel starting, good options both right and left with him and Coulson in the side.

I'm not sure Kouassi will last the full 90 but with Rhodes out injured I'm glad he's in there from the start and Lavery can come on later. I think it will quite a physical game today, probably why Dembele is on the bench.

We need Kouassi to keep the ball, win headers and be a nuisance whilst bringing Rhodes and CJ into play. Gabriel and Coulson good choice too.

Dembele and Lavery to come on late and give them a different problem. Hopefully Byers gets a run out as well.

He'll have a job bringing Rhodes into play.
 
They’d of been working all week on stopping Dembele could be a master stroke. Great to see Kouassi starting

Joseph and CJ will be wide. You should now that.
 
These next two games are enormous for us, looking at the table Oxford and Barnsley of the top six are the ones to try and catch. If, and I know it's a massive if, we can win today and then beat Oxford at home, it might still be on.
Loads of football to be played yet, I know, but you can't get away from the significance of today and next Saturday.
