Like that team. I’d play Connolly instead of Thorniley and Grimmy instead of Maxwell though.

Poor passes a needless booking, and being pretty invisible means for me Dougall gets dropped.

Yes I'd like to see that team but when you say play your best players from the start you need to add IN THEIR BEST POSITION.

One thing for sure he has to add creativity to the side, leaving the likes of Poveda, Bowler and Patino on the bench is negative as fuck, we looked like we'd set up tonight away from home against a top side and just trying to hit them on the counter and nick a result.
We're the home side on Saturday and we need three points, FFS Mick get some attacking players on from the start and take the game to them.
Athers I like your team and would go with that for Saturday.

Grimshaw must start. Thompson needs to come in for Husband and Patino for Dougall. Aside from that, you’ve cracked it!

Hamilton left wing for me. Does more in a game than Rogers from what I’ve seen so far. Also agree with Thompson at left back. Watching Husband at left back is very painful.

Id go Connolly for Thorniley and Grimshaw for Maxwell personally...harsh on CJ aswell so I wouldnt argue if it was Hamilton for Rogers

I’ve been crying out to see Connolly play in a CD role and it was good to see him move there last night when Goode got injured, but l would move him into CDM in place of Kenny for Saturday. Apart from that I'd go with that team.

We can’t afford to play Connolly in midfield at any point. He is defender. We have enough trouble keeping the ball as it is.
Dougall should be number 1 on the team sheet from now in.

We all have our views and opinions that’s what makes this board interesting (well some of the time) and l agree CC is a defender but he’s also had some very good games at CDM.

Nope. I get the CJ love in and he'll be a big player for us in League 1 again, but Rogers every time for me. He wasn't consistent last night, but you saw flashes and he needs to start every week.

I like Connolly and I thought he had a good game last night. Seeing him in midfield though would be worse than seeing Jerry Yates on the right wing or Madine as a lone striker. Just my opinion.

Rogers or CJ. I’m not too fussed. The biggest issue is to stop this nonsense of playing Jerry Yates right wing and Madine as a lone striker. Thankfully the latter won’t be happening again.

Watch the equaliser at the end. Rogers pulls the ball out of the air, kills it dead, quick feet around 2 defenders and crosses for Yates. Amazing skill that Bowler recognised by going over to thanks him rather than take the glory

That's why I said I wouldn't want him anywhere near midfield. He is fine as defensive cover.

Connolly in particular is a really valuable squad player.
He is good enough to play in 3 positions and rarely let's us down.
Given your history of not rating Southern, I am not suprised by your opinion, but I would be giving him a new contract now.
We need workhorses as well as flair players.
Madine's red card could be a blessing in disguise

I’m think the posters team is good save for possibly CJ starting and Rogers coming on but his height could be useful.
Don’t mind Connolly in midfield but those calling for Patino and Carey surely can’t have seen how weak they have been in the tackle all season. We need to protect the back four and wrestle the midfield control we have glibly gifted to the opposition during the Appleton debacle.
