The “Give Dobbie The Job” thread

Definitely, if he had been in position since the start of the season and had managed to get the results he got in his 6 in charge, we would have finished up with 69 points. Says it all in my book. GIVE HIM THE JOB.

👍

Immediate improvement that goes beyond a new manager bounce

Showed he can organise a team, both before and during his spell as caretaker

Clear respect from the players

Knows the younger players at the club and well positioned to work them into the first team set-up

Will have the fans behind him 100 percent even if it’s a slow start

Need someone who knows the market, knows the players out there that we can recruit, and who has experience.
Dobbie has done well, but it's a massive NO from me.
Sentimental appointment if he gets it, and not one based on the best man for the job getting it.
Sadler can't afford another mistake. Dobbie is a mistake waiting to happen and the 'fans' will turn on him in no time if things don't start out well.
Time for fans to stop feeling butt-hurt about NC and bring him back.

There’s risk with any appointment including bringing back NC.

Dobbs has shown enough to take the punt on him.

Reckon he will have a lot of contacts and will know the Scottish market inside out and could find us a couple of gems.

Ex Huddersfield assistant manager Pelach has been interviewed for the job according to the Daily Mail. Spanish chap was under Carlos Corberan.

If it's being concerned about fan reaction to a slow start next time, them surely Critchley has to be the biggest risk?

We all know he would divide opinion anyway, and while I'm sure those against would still give their matchday support it wouldn't take much to turn them the other way.

He's certainly brought me round to thinking he would be worth a go, I still think he would benefit from having an experienced assistant but it's difficult to argue with how it's gone since he took over.

It would be crazy not to give the job to Dobbie.

After all the mistakes the management have made this season I don't believe they will end it with another major howler. Will they.........?

Not on your life.

Dobbie would be at least 6 weeks ahead of any other manager he knows the whole squad including the youngsters
This is a critical point.

If we're to hit the ground running the best chance is with Dobbie.

Anyone new now and how can they assess the players in time.

They have to wait for them to return and see lot of training, friendlies and we'll have missed many weeks of opportunity.

Dobbie has seen them all in meaningful games.

I loved Mr Dobbie when he played for us. I think I would like him even more as our manager.
He is now 40 years old. No longer a spring chicken, but mature enough to handle the players and has a dynamism we have been lacking all season. Mr Dobbie oozes positivity whenever I have seen him.

If we do not give him his chance, we could lose him to another club and Mr Sadler could rue that for the rest of his days.
It just feels right, Mr Sadler. It would be a clear reset. The possible up-side is huge, the down-side minimal. Give him the whole summer to plan. Frankly, I think it’s the lowest risk gamble possible for you right now.

Yes, I'd give him the job. I guess it's not too difficult to make a strong case for him because he has...
* Got 3 wins in 6, much better than relegation form
* Rectified many of the obvious selection problems, most importantly putting Grimshaw and Fiorini back in the team
* Played with a clearly defined style of play that gave us something we could finally associate with and enjoy
* Got the players playing as a team and lifted morale which indicates he has good man management skills
* United the fan base behind him
* The Blackpool DNA given his time at the club and what he has achieved

I think for his assistant I would prefer a good organiser of the defence as Dobbie may be weaker in this area.
