The Cube Poulton

Anyone know what’s going on with the Cube. Walked past it this morning and the windows have been put through (again) and the doorway was roped off, looks like a fire?

The windows were only fixed last week after every one of them was smashed a couple of weeks ago. I ask who had done it and they claimed that the wind was responsible. I asked if “the wind” had a grudge against them!

Yep, it’s in the Gazette now. Fire and windows smashed just after midnight. Looks like a grudge thing.

Definately someone with a massive grudge doing this. Not long ago the person/ people tried to set it on fire

5 masked guys with baseball bats according to the LEP. Serious grudge thing going on. Pretty scary.

I want to know where @Torycorner has been?
Don’t get into Poulton as much theses days, still great to meet people for a few drinks in the Stocks & Schillings and the craft beer bars in the square and the champagne/rum/cocktail bars on The Breck.
Thatched House not half the pub it was since Neil Swift retired.
I tend to prefer a drink at Poulton Golf Club now.especially in the summer!!
Never been a fan of the Cube TBH (left but it’s sad to see what’s happening with it, a bit scary too TBH.
Shows how low society has got “a nanny state with a powerless police force to enforce law & order” will only get worse when Labour win the next GE.

But it doesn`t necessarily show any of those things TC.

And why it "will only get worse" under a different government is just speculation, as we haven`t seen their plans in detail. Is there any evidence to say it will get worse, bearing in mind it was Theresa May who cut back the police force by 20,000 as Home Secretary?

Also , it isn`t that the police are "powerless" in this matter, it may be that the owners of the establishment that has been vandalised are reluctant to give information to the police for various reasons, and if that is the case, how are the police going to track down masked men in a car with no registration plate (allegedly)?

If repeated smashing of windows in Poulton is your idea of "how low society has got", you need to get out more.

Oh! I see you do...:)

I am of little doubt the owner of the establishment and the police have a fair idea who may be behind these awful occursnces
Police don’t have the powers to either investigate or act because of “nanny state red tape is my point”

The 13 years of Labour 1997-2010 was the “brainchild of the nanny state” hence my comments.

No more politics on this forum let’s get back to football & Sturdsy ⚽🚌🧡

What's up with the Thatched now? Not been in much myself lately but did pop in a couple of months ago and all seemed fine.

Been to Poulton a few times whilst in the UK. Had some food in the Cube with a big group and it was decent for a place that does a bit of everything. Bit weird being sat in there with all the windows smashed up but we’d already booked.

I still like The Thatched and it’s been rammed every time we’ve been in. We went when my Mrs was pregnant and the doorman moved some people around in the back room so my Mrs could have a seat which he didn’t need to do 👍
