The Player you expected to be great .. but never was!

When we signed Steve Davies for 500k in 2013 I thought we'd signed a superstar from Bristol City. I'd seen him score some spectacular goals at Derby and Bristol but alas a big disappointment here. We'd have been better signing the snooker player.

A player who was good but I thought would go on to be great was Ian hesford, not sure why but it’s rumoured he was partial to the odd shandy or two. Remember watching him as a kid thinking we’re not gonna miss George wood with this guy in nets.

Richard Kingson, just come from an amazing world cup in South Africa, got to the quarters with Ghana, signed him from Premier league Wigan, shame that his ex wife cursed him.

Heard a story of him turning up to training tripping off his head on acid!
was going to tell you what I know. Seems like you are well aware. When he was at Atherton he seemed to be very friendly with another ex pro, Andy Feeley. Not sure if you know him ?. Bury and Brentford. Google him anyway. You will see a few stories about him. They were shocking.

Hameur Bouazza

Former £3m man (back when that was a lot of money). Full international. Scored one worldie of a goal against Posh, then pretty much vanished off the face of this earth …
Did not buy into team ethic, and thought he was better than he was

Gordon Milne .Ex Nobber who had a very good career at Liverpool winning the First Division title. Played for England in midfield.Signed in 1967. Too slow and past his best. Fans did’nt like him at all.

His ex wife phoned him and asked " have you had a sharp pain, as if someone is sticking needles in a voodo doll?" He replied "No"
Wife: " How about now?"

Looked a real good signing on his debut Vs Doncaster, nosedived after that.

MikeSummerbee: Looked on wiki and also a Knobber by birth, so no wonder he was crap for us.
Summerbee signed for Blackpool on Christmas Eve 1976. The transfer had been the Blackpool chairman's idea, not that of manager Allan Brown. Summerbee later admitted that he should not have joined the club.[1] He made just three league appearances for the Seasiders

Sergei Aleksandrovich Kornilenko.
The Belarusian international forward, played 6 times in the Prem for us, on loan, but never scored.
Was surprised to see that he was a loanee, my bad memory.

Worked extremely hard, was just getting some form when he was badly fouled and injured, don't think he played again for us.

Danny Mitchley

He was banging them in for the reserves. Voted best young player of the season.
He came off the bench in 89th minute against Crystal Palace.
That was it and he went to Burscough!

Blinkhorn was another who never lived up to expectations.

Will Nuttall prove us wrong. As it stands he will be a worse signing than Chris Malkin.

Richard Sendal was another of that ilk.
Was seconds away from grabbing the FA Cup headlines with what looked like the winner vs Man City.

Tony Cunningham and Keith Walwyn RIP, they should of scared third division defences to death, but it all ended a little mediocre for me.
