The run-in, Rotherham and QPR

Looking at the run-in, these 2 have some tough fixtures ahead and I can easily see them both being dragged into the crap with us 3.

QPR:
April 1: Wigan Athletic (a)
April 7: Preston North End (h)
April 10: West Bromwich Albion (a)
April 15: Coventry City (h)
April 19: Norwich City (h)
April 22: Burnley (a)
April 29: Stoke City (a)
May 8: Bristol City (h)

Rotherham:
April 1: Hull City (a)
April 7: West Bromwich Albion (h)
April 10: Norwich City (a)
April 15: Luton Town (h)
April 18: Burnley (h)
April 22: Bristol City (a)
April 29: Middlesbrough (h)
May 8: Wigan Athletic (a)

Only Wigan stands out as a game both could be expected to get a result from, and the Pie munchers have nothing to lose after the 3-point deduction, so the shackles might come off.

Reading losing points will also drag them in, but Paul Ince knows how to scrape draws and 1-0 wins so I think they will stay up.

Close to the end of the season, the players switch off & no score can be predicted.
This is probably due to instructions from their wives / partners: " we're on holiday in 2 weeks, so don't you get injured" & agents: "I've lined up a great move for you, so don't ruin it by getting injured".
You only need to look at our last couple of games last season - thrashed by two relegated teams.

Our last two games was down to critchley sending most of the team away on holidays two weeks before the season finished.

I imagine about six or seven points would probably take QPR and Rotherham beyond what we are likely to end up with. I would expect them to just about manage that.

Been on holiday most of the time this season also!
No they haven’t. We’ve had more injuries than players available at times
Stewart. Out all season
Anderson. Just back played 45 minutes
Ekpiteta been out a few months
Bridcutt out since october
Lavery out till mid April
Gabriel just back out for 8/10 weeks
Madine out for the season
Beesley out for the season
Goode been out over a month
Trybull been out over a month
Fiorini out since mid august. Just back played only 90 minutes
Thornley out with concussion ( 2nd time ) this season and wasn’t just two weeks was around 8 weeks he was out.
Husband was out for weeks with his hamstring
So you’d probably be in our position had you had to deal with all these injuries at the same time
We’ve had 11 players missing for a lot of the games this season been a minimum of 6 missing every game
That’s not excuses either it’s the truth
The injury list had been endless all season

A transfer policy that seemed to sign mainly cheap injury prone crocks has come back to bite us. Just a shame that Coby Bishop wasn’t part of that policy.

& our run in is a piece of cake? Our last 15 games would very much suggest otherwise.

A lot of this has been self inflicted, how many known injury prone players have you bought in since end of last season?

And don’t forget the red cards !!

Some but not all.

A mixture of bad signings, really bad luck, a lot of reds, some justified some a disgrace.

Poor manager choice, bad summer.

Everything that could go wrong pretty much has.

As we always say , there are some strange results near the end of the season , with the teams in the play off positions, resting their star players & also teams in mid table taking their foot off .

Problem is we’ve actually played better against some of those teams they still have to play. Sometimes feel games involving bottom sides are more difficult because they’re down there because they generally don’t play very well and that can be of much of a problem for managers.

Michelle. You do know that Norfolk White is a nobber?

Problem is we need to win a few games regardless of who the other teams have to play and sorry just cannot see us getting enough points to worry enough teams above us. Not negative just realistic.
