Cant believe this shite. £4mil??? He's got 3 years left on his contract ffs! I think our owner and Co. need to lose their own small club mentality. Is £4mil the magic number for these guys? Are we just gonna sell everyone for £4fuckingmil?

Probably only his 'current value', don't think we'd accept it as the more he scores the more he goes up.

End of the season he's then 7m+ ish.

Do it again season after he's even more, even with less on his contract.
 
These sites are notoriously full of rubbish, we aren’t even in a transfer window why would we be slapping price tags on players who we haven’t even had offers for? Especially a mere 4m for joint top of the league goal scorer, neither Simon not the board are stupid enough to do something like that
 
With nearly three years left on his contract I'd be amazed if we sold, if he continues this kind of form he'll be worth three times that. Top scorers in the championship don't come cheap, and certainly much more than £4m.

Paper talk. They can all fuck off. If he becomes a 20 goal striker then perhaps he will want to move on, or better still progress with us! it makes me sick when the media bull people up after a really short successful spell, he's only just started firing in the Championship recently. His work-rate has always been phenomenal though I'd add.

Similar sites, probably this exact one as well, reported josh for £4mil and look where that ended up... it was handled extremely badly by our club as well. Everyone said it was bull at the time but it happened.
 
As soon as the media reported Rangers interest, his agent will have started agitating for a move for him, that's his job, what BFC have to do now is sweeten his contract to encourage him to stay.

But Josh was in his final year of a contract. If he had 3 left like Jerry it would have been far higher than £4m! Paper talk is to be ignored, certainly as far as figures go!
 
So as a result of some spurious media report we have to immediately offer him an improved contract...
I don't think so.
If Jerry carries on his current form it's inevitable that he will attract plenty of interest but this is just based on clickbait journalism.
To read these reports you would think that Blackpool had AGREED he could go for whatever amount the journo has conjured up in his head...it's absolute bollux!
If this rich vein of form continues he will be offered better terms but as things stand he is contracted until 2024.
In the meantime may the mutual love-in between Jerry and the fans long continue.

If Scott Twine a midfielder from Div 1 costs more than the leading goal scorer in the Championship with a 3 year contract, then we are mugged.

Riis valued at £10m by Nobbers. Watkins valued at £32m by Brentford. You’re looking at above £10m or it’s a give away (worth it or not?)
 
We need to sit Jerry down with a 5 year plus 1 contract with bigger wages. Fuck the vultures off from circling. Jerry is loved by pool fans and I’d like to think he lives the pool fans too. Get this done ASAP in my opinion
Jerrys ours till summer 2025 and worth a lot more than 4M cheeky bastards

He has 3 years left no chance of him getting a new deal

It's up to the club what they think he's worth unless he has a stupid clause
 
I love how the article implies we're looking for £4m. There's no way the club would've said "yes, he's yours for £4m". It's just a bullshit made up article where they've noticed he's the top scorer, noted we reportedly sold Bowler for £4m, and spun the random club name generator.

The Sun were reporting in June that Blackburn were after him and we wanted £5m. So in four months he's become the joint top scorer in the championship and we've decided to lower our asking price by £1m. It's just utter bollox.

Edit to add - sorry was June 2021 when Rovers were apparently after him. But the point still stands, because that was just before we gave him a new contract, so he had the same length of time left then as he does now.

Nothing to see here.

It’s in Yates’ interest to keep banging in goals and our interest to hold on to him. For about 18mths. Getting Jan 24 window sorted should suit everyone
 
Whether or not it’s ‘made up’ is immaterial really… The figures come from somewhere and whether that’s media, agents or other Clubs, it shows exactly what they think of us as a Club.

It’s obvious to any Blackpool Fan that £4M is an absolute insult, yet these knob heads are valuing one of the Championship’s top scorers at that price, because they think we’re tinpot. It’s not even going to give us a decision to make at that price.

Just been updated. A few days ago it hadn't been since September. It was barely just over £1 million. His goals are getting noticed. Should get the BR doorbell ringing if he gets yet another brace at Coventry tomorrow. I'm going north of £10M
 
Funny how attitudes change . It wasn't long ago that Yates wasn't good enough for the championship and now he is the best striker in it. I 've always rated Yates and I can't see him going anywhere in the near future . He has seen what has happened to Bowler and won't be in a rush to move on.

Of course the figures come from somewhere- it's the writers imagination based on preconceptions of where BFC are at and the need to write something on the C/ship joint top scorer.

It's the biggest load of horseshit and should be treated as such.

As for looking at Bowler, he'll see (and I would) the extra 20k a week..

Don't panic. If he fails to score in the next 5, he'll be back to needing a loan away again,lol.

£4m is way too low, can’t see him going for that but still hope it’s just speculation without any substance and he stays to at least complete this season.
Rangers, Bournemouth, Brentford, Watford & West Brom!! I think Brentford would be the best move for Jerry out of that motley bunch if he was to go!
 
We must be the only club in the country that tells sports journalists how much we want for a player. However, in reality if it had been a newspaper article it wouldn't be worth the paper it was written on.
 
Would the many clubs chasing Jerry ( ie WBA, Rangers) sell their best player, striker in current form ask for only 4m???

Using Bowler as a reference is pointless, situation and contract length completely different.
Jerry is ours for another three years, we’re not desperate to sell, but if he carries on as he does and we get offers in the 8-12million range, it will be hard to turn down.

He’s been consistently one of our top players, even when he wasn’t scoring regularly. 🤔
