Himself and Kenny would be a decent Aussie partnership in L1Perhaps we could try to keep this thread actually focused on potential transfers? The other thread got too long with random chit chat and a number of different topics.
I'll get it started with the information that we have had today, incase others have missed it...
Keanu Baccus has been linked. Australian midfielder who currently plays for St Mirren.
Lots of rumours suggesting Rodriguez has chosen Derby. The two players that we’ve been linked with so far (if there’s any truth in the stories) would be great additions to the squad I think. Rodrigues and Baccus. Not sure that we’ll get either of them but it’s good to be hopeful of some positive signings down the line
They were in the under-18 squad so might interest Dobbie at best.At academy level Shae Cahill, Troy Smikle-James, Charlie Wilson and Harry Wright have not been given new contracts.
4 Everton lads released.
No idea who they are or what positions but I'm sure someone on here or at the club would know
Price has signed for a Belgian teamThey were in the under-18 squad so might interest Dobbie at best.
Einar Iversen and Isaac Price from the U21 squad might be worth a more serious look.
I thought he might well be out of our reach, maybe off to City or similar, but Liege avoids any kind of transfer fee.Price has signed for a Belgian team
Bradley might make sense depending upon Gabriel's injury/recovery, but I think he/Liverpool might want to move up a level, Beck might be a more realistic prospect, but why the club would want another LB is beyond me.My Liverpool mate seems to think we're interested in Conor Bradley (RB) & Owen Beck (LB). They were both at Bolton on loan last season. Whether it's true or not?
Bradley won’t be in League One next season. In the squad or at a Championship/lower Prem teamMy Liverpool mate seems to think we're interested in Conor Bradley (RB) & Owen Beck (LB). They were both at Bolton on loan last season. Whether it's true or not?
Doesn't that depend upon Gabriel's injury? No idea about Beck, but full back on either side is about our lowest priority now
Lyons, with Connolly as backup. Priority surely is midfield and wide areasDoesn't that depend upon Gabriel's injury?
I'd have Beck all day over Thommo and HubbyBradley won’t be in League One next season. In the squad or at a Championship/lower Prem team

Four left backs in a squad of 22. Yeah sounds like a planI'd have Beck all day over Thommo and Hubby
Have you even seen him play?I'd have Beck all day over Thommo and Hubby
Lyons could be used in the wide areas, Connolly might be needed elsewhere, if Gabriel is unlikely to be available for a while I think someone on loan is also a priority.Lyons, with Connolly as backup. Priority surely is midfield and wide areas
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but didn't Baccus once go by the name of Dionysus? If so, I think you'll also find he plied his trade initially in Greece, whilst also making a bit of a name for himself in the wine trade. All of which, rather begs the question: is there no end to this man's talents? Which, in turn, draws me to the following conclusion: by keeping your ear close to the ground, it's amazing what you can pick up from a bit of hearsay...Perhaps we could try to keep this thread actually focused on potential transfers? Whoops! Uncharacteristically, it appears I've made a bit of a gaff. When I saw the name Baccus appear in a submitted reply to a post, I immediately took it to be a reference to the Roman god of wine, agriculture, and fertility. And when I read of his flirtation with Scottish football club St Mirren, I straight away thought he was just trying to add yet another string to his bow. In my confusion, though, on first encountering the name Baccus, I mistakenly read it as Bacchus (with an 'h'), that Roman god fella, hence the rather embarrassing mix-up which has regrettably occurred. Apologies all round, and I promise to thoroughly research any future articles I might choose to submit in future.Thats all very interesting and a keen observation of the player no doubt needs to be taken on board just in case we sign him ffs.
Iiiii have a fwend in Wome called Baccus......The usual Scottish link that never comes off…,
Actually Baccus is decent so fingers crossed
NorburnNorbury being loosely linked again.
Too old and an injury risk now IMO.
It was the plan before tbf!Four left backs in a squad of 22. Yeah sounds like a plan
Translation: he's out of contract at the end of the season, and they're hoping someone will be mug enough to pay a fee for him.Norbury being loosely linked again.

One reason why clubs extend contracts on decent terms for the player- to get rid of any release clause. When he first signed it could potentially be say 1.5m, which at the time both player and club might have thought unobtainable. We don't know of course if Jerry has a £2.5m release clause but I can't think why he would. Other clubs appear to see us as easy pickings despite how astute the businessman in charge is. £5m minimum because if he can get us back into the Championship that's worth at least £5m and he'll still have another 12 months left on his contract.
Reads like their owner trying to drum up interest in order to get a club to pay a fee.Norbury being loosely linked again.
Too old and an injury risk now IMO.
Glad a club like Leicester are bidding, just means that we'll be able to get a big fee for him.Leicester want Jerry but have made a derisory offer.
