This weekends Tram Sunday

Yeah I wasn’t going but heard it on the radio. Shame after all the decent weather that it’s forecast wet & windy 🌬

Dry day forecast and 24mph going down to 20 winds(could change) which is pretty normal for the Fylde coast and the same as when I attended Lytham festival with no problems, that's the problem with long range weather forecasts they are exactly that a prediction and nearly always wrong.

Now the event organisers have cancelled an event and weather has changed what a bunch of idiots when it could have gone on next time working outside get up and I decide on the day what your doing.

It’s a shame, lots of people have been working on stalls including charities and Fleetwood Museum. We are just setting off for The Great Eccy Country Show, we are figuring the earlier the better as it looks to be getting worse as the day goes on.

Good. You couldn’t pay me enough to go to Fleetwood for anything non football related.

Lord Street is like the Gaza Strip!
Nothing compares with the Darien Gap (aka Central Dr). Take a drive down there any Wednesday at around midnight when all the local trash are stood in their jammies and slippers waiting by the hole in the walls to recieve their "wages".

I see the usual anti Fleetwood brigade are out in force again how childish.

Trams and vehicles we’re coming from other areas of the country so a decision couldn’t be taken on the day or even the day before as lots of planning involved including transport of vehicles.

First time it would have gone ahead since pre Covid so it’s a shame for event organisers, locals, and the thousands that would have visited from outside the region yet the usual suspects take the piss how sad and childish is that as it’s ruined a lot of peoples day?

Only on AVFTT. ☹️

Yep, couldn’t agree more every place has its good and bad characteristics.
Poulton (where I now live) & Lytham included.
Fleetwood has an amazing history and probably has as good if not better promenade & beach front as anywhere else on the Fylde Coast.
Both my late & new lady in my life were born in Fleetwood and have stared there by choice not necessity.
As people overall they are very warm & friendly.
Yes, the same as Blavkpool in has its social/economic problems, Fleetwood problems are augmented by the “less desirable element” who are relocated there from from the big cities to start new lives by the welfare state. Most of whom will never change, so they bring their anti-social behaviour to Fleetwood.
Yes, Fleetwood is “peninsular & insular” but it has a “heartbeat” that someone from the outside can embrace rather than “throwing stones from their own glass houses”
I was really looking forward to going to Tram Sunday and many people who were planning to visit this event from out of Fleetwood were too.
It should be a good day still as the pubs and blind are still opening and most bands are still playing so I’ll still be spending my Sunday afternoon in the historical town.

Bet you’re fun at parties.

Just disappointed as my 5 year old grandson was really looking forward to it yet you choose to take the piss.

Oh and if you think Lord street is like the Gaza Strip I’m assuming you’ve never walked down central drive now that is a cesspit of an place.

At least I know how you got your username now living in Blackpool. 🤣

That's average windspeeds and not gusts, I've just had to cancel an event in Lytham and all of my bookings for the weekend. Infact they're now saying it's going to be 42mph gusts today instead of 32mph. For me personally I can't operate over 24mph gusts which is the law for my industry and public liability insurance would be null and void if anything went wrong. Never been to a tram Sunday but I'm guessing there would be tents, inflatables and gazeebos, any accidents and the event organisers are liable.

And if they wake up tomorrow and winds are even lighter than forecast Thursday?

That really was my point the weather forecast for this weekend was terrible now it's OK and not nearly as bad as the charts said.

We've become a right bunch of bell ends in this country since Covid panic panic panic.

They won't be lighter as there's a low pressure system sat over us, that won't just disappear. They cancelled most of this weekends events Friday afternoon not Thursday. The weather forecast was terrible and they've pretty much got it spot on as the wind in the last hour has gone up, if anything the wind speeds are higher than predicted. I don't think the events have cancelled because of the rain showers but more to do with the wind gusts.
