Toby Sibbick - Hearts offer rejected

Just seen the one man and his dog. Just wish we could get the big home crowds like Dundee united, Kilmarnock, St Mirren, Ross County, St Johnstone, Livingstone.... he would miss those great away days. 4 to 6k average attendance bar Dundee Utd with 9K. Lucky they get the massive boost from when Rangers and Celtic come.

Another Hearts fan here. This post is laughable and full of ignorance. Would Sibbick rather be playing Fiorentina/Istanbul/Rangers/Celtic/Hibs in front of packed stadiums or for Blackpool against Morcambe in front of two men and a dog?
The poor lad is probably worried about getting a back injury, having to keep picking the ball out of the back of the net playing teams like Fiorentina... Remind us all again.... how many goals they put past you?

You’re a touchy bunch. I’ll bow out but most of you appear hugely out of touch with the standard of the Scottish game. Hearts would take about six off Blackpool.
It's about league 1 level at best, and that's being generous. Apart from Celtic of course.

SPL is League One standard, simple as that. If a player does well at Hearts, he may get a move to Rangers or the Championship. If a player does well with us, they get a move to the English Prem on 10x money.

The clue is in the fact any half decent Scottish player moves to England.

And Morecambe at home? No chance, they're going down. But even then - is it really less appetising than Ross County at home? It's January, and your league campaign is now pointless. Can't move up, can't move down.

The team chasing you for the coveted third spot play at the Tony Macaroni Arena and average 4,000 😅

I think seasidepaddles post was insulting and unnecessary, however I also think yours was just as bad. Surely we are all grown ups and can act like such instead of petulant children. The post by Edinburghscot was friendly, informative and well thought out, it’s deserves to be treated with the respect and spirit in which it was posted. Let’s not degrade ourselves or each others clubs with petty insults.

The Scottish Prem is League one standard apparently. Is that why you’re bidding on our 4th choice CB? Shouldn’t you be setting your sights a little higher?

Yes. Probably why we bid tuppence ha'penny for him 😂

Jesus, I always thought the Old Form had a chip in their shoulder, but this is beyond laughable

You just look like the stereotype, bitter, Anti English, sweaty sock now........just quit whilst you're ahead and enjoy Andy Halliday (who incidentally, was crap even in League one) 👍

I’d put money on you never having been to a game in Scotland. I’ve been to plenty of league one and championship games and the standard is murder. Just had a look at your squad - haven’t heard of a single one of them.
Stop being silly..

Kirk broadfoot played over 350 SPL games. I rest my case

Lads, while I agree with the general observations on standard etc, let's not forget it's about 4 months ago we got knocked out by Barrow

Next he’ll be telling us Scotland's squad is as strong as England’s because of that 0-0 draw they got in their cup final.

Weird behaviour to sign up to another teams forum to tell them how shit their club is.

Wow. A Hearts fan hasn't heard of any of our players, therefore they aren't good. Hearts fans know all players at all times if they're any good.

"Ultimately, my aim is to go and play in Scotland." Said nobody, ever.

Sadly it looks like we've got some thin-skinned folks in Edinburgh. Guess they exist everywhere. Please don't let Gorgie rile folk too much.

I'd say we envy you the Championship cash, and the players you can buy with it; but we ourselves probably are on quite a similar turnover, or perhaps a chunk better now thanks to the cash from the Europa League groups. (£14.6 million turnover last year, this year will be similar plus prizemoney). Both clubs will be looking at similar markets for players. As folk say, much of the SPL is roughly League One standard; our goal is to lock in the third European place as best of the rest and keep the money flowing so we can rise above that. We're spending fairly wisely, and made £3 million profit last year.

This may make the standard at Hearts better over the longer term but as people above point out, we're in a league of very varying abilities. Last year we had to play a cup final against Rangers right after they lost the Europa final on penalties; but we started back in the league this year by playing Ross County.

You could probably poach squad players from us, but it'll be tough going taking regular starters.

Anyway, all the best. Hope you stay up and manage to start inching up the table over the next couple of years. We're not rivals or anything, and enough of you seem like nice lads I have no problems wishing you success.

Don’t join in.
I read all that thread on the Hearts message board and they came across as a right bunch of arrogant tossers.

If we want to sign this player we need to put more money on the table or move on.

Best of luck pal.
Football can be a hard business. I miss the times when my favourite players’ used to stick around for more than 1 season.

Thanks for your good wishes. I will reciprocate on behalf of the majority of Blackpool fans who are fair minded and generous in their support of other teams, except Preston of course.😉 the only thing I will take issue with is our inching up the table. That needs to happen in the next couple of months, not years.😁

Your gaffer has said they've rejected the bid today so would think that's it done.

Millwall in for Nisbet from your nearest and dearest. Upped their offer to £2m+. Should be enough.

Which bid has he said they have rejected and do you have a link?

Was on Sky Sports News just before 7pm after an interview with Robbie Neilson with the presenter saying Neilson had confirmed that a bid had been rejected from Blackpool for Toby Sibbick.

You might be able to rewind Sky if you have it to watch it back if you need absolute proof.

So that sounds like a reference to a single ‘initial’ bid, which is essentially a ‘fact finder’ ?

What is clear from their managers comments is that the player is very much ‘available’ at the right price…

It feels to me like we are involved in a negotiation… probably one of many …

I've been to loads of games in Scotland including several Hearts ones and the standard is very similar to League 1 to be honest with the exception of the old firm

Some really quite ignorant and disrespectful comments about Scottish Football on here, eh? The full spectrum of ignorance in fact. Well played lads.

The danger is that this is now being negotiated in public, inviting other clubs to get involved. An agent’s tactic to inflate the price and get the player a better deal.

Do wonder why most of our club's league one and two rejects ended up in Scotland, it's as if it is a similar or lower level.

I’ve been the corner flag for afternoon tea for my birthday and whilst there. Cameramen we’re in the dugout along with mick McCarthy and a coloured lad having his photo taken and being I terviwed and then a tall white guy ( as tall as McCarthy) having his photo taken and Interview and both of them did handshakes with McCarthy. This looked very much like two new signings to me. Hope I’m right. Got pics but don’t know how to post them on here.
Coloured lad ??? Is it 1975 again ??

I've been to plenty and it's league 1 at best overall. Stopped going a few years ago due to the low standard compared to the English games I usually attend. Wouldn't waste my hard earned north of the border and don't even bother watching Scottish football on local TV...in Scotland.

My thoughts exactly.
SPL v Championship could well be league one next season for us.
Living in around Edinburgh v living Blackpool area.
Will we pay him more than he’s on now? Hearts are a bigger club than Blackpool so it’s a no brainer for me as a player unless he’s desperate to return to England which clearly doesn’t seem the case here.
Let’s just hope he’s doesn’t have a fish pond as will really kill off any possible deal.
Bigger club ??? In what world ???? An also ran in a farmers league

This is an English board for an English club and you accuse us of ignorance after joining our board to tell us you are a bigger club and no way would one of your players leave you to join us. Most of us know nothing about Scottish football as we don't give a shit about it but do object to you slagging us off. If you don't want to read it please don't look.
