Thompson asked to be more consistent but how can he do that without playing. ? Hopefully we'll win but I think Wigan are favourites unless we can lift ourselves today.

He’s insisted with CJ at wingback to no avail, this is the last roll of the dice with this formation.

I'd have been up for giving it another go with Lyons and Thompson, what is wrong with Critchley!! What can he see that we can't! It's no like the odd dissenting voice calling this out, there are about 9000 of them!!

It beggars belief, it really does.

If Lyons was at right wing back and Thommo on the left, it would lift the crowd. It’s going to be a flat atmosphere and will turn if we go behind.

What is the man thinking persisting with Connolly on the left and CJ on the right 😭

Today better be the day this ridiculous lineup/formation produces the goods. Even a sodding goal.

I've just seen the subs bench, if he is so convinced 3 5 2 is the way to go how do Lyons and Thompson not even get on the bench!!
If it's not working he will have to change formation which may be a blessing because Dembele is no wingback! Then again neither are Hamilton or Connolly!!!!
 
It didn’t look full blown 5-3-2 we normally see and CJ is not coming back as much.
Connolly kills just about every attack having to come back on his right peg.

it's why i never comment on team selection til after the game and i've seen what happens.

It was 4-4-2 and for me our best players today were Beesley and Hamilton.
 
Hamilton had acres of pitch to run into today, that's what he does well, no idea what Wigan were playing at but that's there problem.
I can see something in the Hamilton selection, Connolly is another thing, he's a good defensive utility sub, that's it, why is he starting as the left wing back!?
We were much more on the front foot today, that's what I want to see, hope we can keep it going and use Connolly in the right way. Good professional but not anautomatic starter that should be shoe horned into the starting 11.
