I need to get some ideas to draw up a list for January, obviously dependant on restrictions
For me
1 by far India
2 Laos
3 Cambodia
Eastern Europe/ South America/ as far as you can go up to the top of Scotland/route 66/ Vegas/Scandinavia/north Africa or anywhere else, I’m open to suggestions- just need to get away, will miss a few games but I’m sure there will be some way to watch them

Have you done Vietnam yet? Fantastic country. Obviously not practical at the moment.

Had a great time in Canada, especially the west. Australia too … make sure you spend time outside the big cities in both.

Taiwan is a lot of fun. Maybe combine it with a beach somewhere in Southeast Asia if you’re going all that way.

Then there’s Japan.

Suspect very few of them will be open to visitors any time soon, however!

Iceland - Went February time a few years back before it started to become super popular. Beautiful country. So much to do and see and surprisingly didn’t fall over once despite being completely useless on my feet when it’s icy/snowing in this country.

Ukraine - Went back to 2012 after the Euro’s. Stopped in Kiev. Went to Chernobyl/Pripyat which was interesting.

Australia - Spent three weeks there on the East Coast. Would have loved to have gone for longer but was the most I could get off work. Crammed in as much as I could and had a great time.

Philippines is great. Like a less crowded/Touristy Thailand, with locals who all speak some English and are very friendly and chill.
Avoid the tourist traps, rent a moped and just island hop. Lived there for a year. Women are gorgeous too.

Romania is also brilliant. Can go skiing in Brasov for about a quarter of the price you'd pay in the Alps, see Vlad the Impaler's castle, visit their version of the dead sea, beach holiday in Constanta for less than Magaluf...and the women are gorgeous too.

China can be brilliant if you have the budget. It's like a continent really, so probably somewhere to spend a bit more time on. Amazing food too.
The women are gorgeous but mental 😄

Very difficult to only list 3, so many amazing places for completely different reasons. I have so many more countries to visit also. Of those I've been to that I'd definitely like to return to:

South Africa - Cape Town
Australia - Sydney/Gold Coast
Croatia - Hvar Island

1. Italy (Rome)
Went for a long weekend and still didn't fit in all the things to see. An amazing place with amazing history, food isn't too shabby either (although I hear other parts of Italy are much better cuisine-wise).

2. Greece (Rhodes)
A great combination of relaxation, sight seeing, drinking and food. Hotel was great, multiple beaches nearby, idyllic views and loads of little towns/areas nearby to venture out to.

3. Czech Republic (Prague)
Best beer I've ever tasted, was like nectar!

I can't do a holiday of just a week sitting at a beach me, did a family one in 2017 to Majorca and it bored me senseless. Have to have a bit of history/sightseeing as well.

Looking next summer to go to Cavtat in Croatia, looks a great combination of a beach holiday with some culture to experience as well. Cavtat's own old town and the beautiful city of Dubrovnik up the road!

Japan, like flying into the future or it was 20 years ago, think we might have caught up a bit since, delightfully bonkers!
Costa Rica: The most beautiful country we’ve visited, really friendly people and very advanced eco wise.
Brazil: Music, dance, football, scenery, cheap as chips, well worth a visit.

I think most of the countries in the world I have visited I have found something to enjoy or had an adventure, so its hard to pick three, but if forced

1. Myanmar -

Its like going back 50 years , fantastic buildings , friendly people , went 4 years ago, was starting to get flooded with tourist but not too much at the time. Balloons over Bagan one of the top 3 things I've ever done

2. Maldives

Just for the sheer beauty of the islands + the hotel we stayed in we were absolutely spoiled

3. US

Just for variety of experiences from Boston, New Orleans , Colorado , Florida San Francisco..................

Worst county if I had to pick one Russia, the food was pants , although it had improved the second time I went. When dealing with people on a transactional level i.e restaurants, hotels and travel very surly and unhelpful. Although if you got into a deeper conversation in a bar or about work they opened up.

Costa Rica is magical.

Also liked Bolivia and Malawi but how can you narrow the World down to just 3 places when there are so many amazing destinations?

God; top 3 is tricky.

There's the experience and then the place I suppose.

I spent 6 months on the USA 25 years ago. Based out of Pennsylvania but travelled a little. By far the most generous people I've ever met. It's huge though, so it's difficult to say it's one place.

Going back to NY in December 2019 was wonderful.

France is incredible. I've never had a bad time in the country. From metropolitan Paris to the foothills of the Alps in Chamonix, to the central area around Limoges, to the Côte D'azure; absolutely stunning country.

And I think Malaysia; from ultra modern KL to the paradise of Langkawi. I felt like Gulliver mind at 6' 4"+ I felt conspicuous.

Honourable mentions to Romania and the West Coast of Scotland.

Have to agree about Scotland, especially the West Coast as you say, but outside the UK.

USA - only visited a few of the states (incl Florida and Alaska) but there's so many different areas to visit

Canada - Only visited the British provinces in the West to Central regions. Beautiful country, especially when viewed from the Rocky Mountaineer train journey through the Rockies.

Jamaica - didn't see Kingston, and yes we'd heard about crime rates. But we didn't see any of that, great people and a great stay. Dunns River Falls and Montego Bay were beautiful though

1- Australia, visited Sydney/Brisbane/Cairns would love to be able to go again. Was lucky enough to see a Ashes test match at the Gabba
2- Germany, visited most major cities in the country and love everything about it.
3- Barbados, the most perfect holiday resort ever.

Not done Australia yet, but love Germany, and this year is the first time we’ve missed our annual visit to Barbados in years, as you say the perfect holiday destination.🏝🍹Bliss.

thanks TKL, Vietnam is the one I’m definitely going to when things are ok , backpacked round SE Asia 5 years ago and it was part of the plan but as I spent more time in other places I would have had only 3 days there, as a visa was around £120 at the time I left it and intend to do it properly for at least a couple of weeks in future

Nice one CT, I’ve done most of Eastern Europe but not Ukrainian, I’ve been reading up on it lately
