Toxic Support?

The day the fans start dictating the tactics is the day I pack up supporting the club.👎
I think he will do what he has to, if we continue to struggle Critchley will have to change his style of play/formation. Self preservation and all that.

All things considered, I would say that we are one of the least toxic sets of fans in the country (Oystain's aside)

Just look at the fantastic support at the last home game v Wigan despite the abject team selections / tactics and performances in the preceeding games.

I’m not looking forward to Saturday which is not like me, I‘m usually optimistic, but I just can’t see him changing his formation. It’s depressing because we do have the players to do well in this division.

They have been listening to the critics - hence the statements
That's the problem IMO
The club reacts to the very vocal minority rather than communicate effectively
That in turn creates the impression the fanbase is more toxic than it is and also encourages the vocal critics to persist as they see their influence

I don't believe we're much different to other clubs. That said, Blackpool is a loud and forthright place and has - for many years - bred loud and forthright people. That's why we're so loud in the ground when we're being supportive and why we're so forthright when we get frustrated.

And we last got promoted when there were no fans in the ground.

It was the Covid restrictions that prevented our fanbase from destroying Critchley and his young team after their poor start.

Problem is we've had the success of going to the prem, then just missing out on going up again. Topped off with the removal of the oyscums n quick bounce bk to championship. That's been a decent period that should have been built on in2010 but we know how that went. Maybe some are a bit edgy as we have heard it all before re new stans, training ground etc. People pay their money. If the footballs shit you boo, you don't clap n say oh well better look next time.

Fans of any club would be toxic watching some of the shite we have had to endure for 12 months. It will turn around at some point then the buzz will be back, it’s just football.

A lot of the booing this season was directed at officials.
More worrying is periods of silence where the crowd are not energised by what they are seeing
I think these 'periods of silence' can, in all likelihood. be attributed to certain sections of the crowd falling prey to narcosis, or, alternatively, simply drifting off into a type of psychological stupour ...

Bearing in mind what we’re currently watching (I’m personally bored with with the style of football, granted it’s work in progress, but I’m not seeing any progress. We’ve been unfortunate with Joseph but the squad doesn’t seem balanced) I think the crowd have been patient and supportive and I’d say we’re far from Toxic, however the patience is being tested. Lots of people I know aren’t happy with what’s being served uo, but don’t currently voice their disapproval.

Also considering last years football and the disastrous transfer windows last season we did well to get the season ticket sales and the attendances so far.

Most away managers praise our support.

I will concede there are a few toxic negative fans especially on Twitter but they’re not representative of the fan base as a whole. However last season their concerns became apparent and I wouldn’t go as far as correct (but they would 😜).

Generally like another poster said we can be overly positive and/or overly negative, for example lots were predicting Automatic promotion, I’m not quite sure what they based their predictions on 😁.

The Tik-Tok generation needs to accept that watching live football is often quite dull but those periods of excitement or moments of brilliance are often more memorable because of it.

Cannot comment as sleeping myself during the inaction

The people I know and sit with at the ground don't seem at all toxic. The ground and this message board can get very gloomy as soon as things don't go exceptionally well; there seems too much expectation on Sadler. It didn't start with a mass revolt against Karl Oyston but it seemed that the exchanges on the message board proved catalytic to many. The one thing I don't like are some of the posts about the players. I felt the Maxwell thing got completely out of hand last season.

"I’m grateful for the situation we are in at the minute (recent results aside)."

The situation we are in is division three.

Go back to your lessons on how to read.

Just checking you are ok Paulco?

Noticed you were a heavy volume poster last week but not seen since yesterday great performance?

Whilst a valid comment one muckle doesn't make....I forget. Suffice, 3 points at Barnsley and things are looking up. Zero points and it's 3/9 and all that entails. It's that fragile.

Simon get that NO 2 put in place.

What a ridiculous OP and thread

Of course our fanbase is more invested in every part of the club and so it should be

Very few clubs have been through what our fanbase has been through

It's not toxic it's just that we care more
