Trump Vol 556443234

I think the Americans deserve all the condemnation (and sniggering) they get world-wide when you look at who they elected.

But thousands of them are going to die because he isn't up to the job, and more interested in fighting the people who probably are. I don't think they deserve that. Certainly not the majority that voted for someone else.

Yes and yes, especially when the self interested prick decides to allocate equipment and funding to Republican states and allies rather than who needs it most.

The big problem is that a majority of US citizens agree with him, and will vote for him again. 😕
Fortunately my relations in Upper NY State are Democrats.👍

Actually he lost the popular vote by circa 3M.

It’s just that the US, a bit like the UK, doesn’t have a very democratic electoral system.

Sorry Mex, it has a reasonable democratic system. All democrasies today have to contrive rules both to facilitate the fairest results they can and to facilitate good government. Of course, it will always be easy to pick out the failings but we should never throw away the 'good' in search of unachievable 'perfection.'

So you think its reasonable that the one with least votes wins?

Is it unachievable perfection to have the person who won by three million votes to be declared the winner?
In democrasies these things happen from time to time. Labour won the popular vote in 1951 but they didn't win the General Election.
If the United States system were to be based on Classic Greek democracy then their country would be indefinitely ruled by California, Texas, New York and Michigan. They learnt early on that for the whole country to have a voice, the population advantage of these States would have to be diluted in the electoral college. Now it is also reasonable that the skewed Presidential Election of 2016 should suggest a review of the electoral college. However, a country that continually reviews it's electoral system usually has to accept A very high level of voter disillusionment: for example the French 4th Republic.

Oh dear. I didn’t realise I was such a dreamer.

Pity the occasional discrepancies in your nigh on perfect favoured system has given us the dunderheads Dubya and Trump.

He's now inciting the residents of a number of States to 'Liberate' themselves from lockdown orders put in place by the governors. You can see how this may end up with some of these Right Wing nutjob militias. It's all good though y'all.

Covid don’t matter if you can sit back and stroke your Gloch.

That’s what us pansy “never fired a gun in our lives” Brits don’t understand.

Gun=Real Man.

Simples

By that you mean it’s only democratic if it suits you mex

I’m not surprised seeing as how it works both ways for you 😃
You need to Explain how Remoaners complaining about Trump's election result cuts both ways for me !

I only voted in one of them 🇬🇧and that was for the winning side according to the election rules🇬🇧👍🏻

Thankfully we aren't in either the USA 🇺🇸 or the EU 🇪🇺 being run by a remote leader we didn't vote for!

So while you're at it you might care to explain why he's 'my donald' and why you think the EU is yours!
😁😂

Sorry Don my first post was meant as a bit of harmless fun. Apologies if you have felt the need to vent some of your spleen on this.
Unfortunately the EU is no longer ‘mine’ and of course never was, that was just a figure of speech.
As for Donald I may be wrong, but I think you seem to at least have spent a fair bit of time defending him.

At his White House briefing on Saturday evening, President Donald Trump praised the production of hospital goods in the US: "V for victory, V for ventilator!"

V is also for vacant 🙄
