40 years old and still sounds like it was written yesterdayNew Order ‘Blue Monday’ was well ahead of its time when first released
I’d forgotten that it’s 40 years this year. Wow now I feel old !40 years old and still sounds like it was written yesterday
I used to drink with Billy Markham in the Mariners and the No .4. Are they related?Think you mean Pigmeat Markham
Travelogue ? Saw them at the PalaisEmpire State Human or Being Boiled
It was the biggest selling 12 inch and still could be for all I know.New Order ‘Blue Monday’ was well ahead of its time when first released
Cos I'm re-learning how to play bass, I was listening to the chain by Fleetwood Mac. It goes from a folksy ballad with country overtones to full on metalesque to romping pop song in the space of five minutes. I'll second the vote for I feel love as well,

Wore mine out and The Beach on the B side got some hammer as well.
Can’t see it somehow as one’s a white roofer and the other a black singer, dancer, and comedian.I used to drink with Billy Markham in the Mariners and the No .4. Are they related?
17 at that time and Spiral Scratch and New Rose did it for me and also been a Fall fan since Industrial Estate.Anarchy In The UK by The Pistols certainly got my attention as a 15 year old bored with the likes of Boney M and The Bee Gees dominating the charts at that time
It was all a bit bland and then boom! along came the Pistols
Never been anyone like them before or since in my opinion
A bit later I can remember hearing Relax by FGTH for the first time in Rumours. That song stopped me in my tracks as well
Oh wow, that is a Gem of a tune and video, and always had a soft spot(a hard one actually) for HazelEighth Day Hazel O'Connor
40+ years ago warning about everything which is coming to pass.
With the warnings about AI replacing white collar work this week, we could do well to take note.

Yes Spiral Scratch and New Rose were fantastic and right up there with all the other great stuff which came out at that time.17 at that time and Spiral Scratch and New Rose did it for me and also been a Fall fan since Industrial Estate.
I was and still am a huge Slade fan but they took the back seat for a while Punk and New Wave came on the scene.
Watching this video on the OGWT was probably the biggest turning point in my music life experiences.Yes Spiral Scratch and New Rose were fantastic and right up there with all the other great stuff which came out at that time.

Everything that falls into mine these days falls right outBrilliant! I saw Magazine at Lancaster Uni. My favourite -
Yeh good stuff, bit later, but really got into early 90’s indian/Asian music, Talvin Singh, electronic trip hop, and ‘Asian Dub Foundation’, electronic, drum and bass, dance and rap, all with a political stance.THIS is the very definition of ahead of it's time.
A track made using equipment that would later become synonymous with acid house music made by a chap in India who was just "messing around".
Great version, didn't think Newman did his old stuff anymore thoughAnyone for Gary Numan and Tubway Army as was with Are Friends Electric.?
Although I do prefer this updated version.
Brilliant band, and still so relevant. I still remember the first time a heard aja, absolutely amazing !!!!!!!For me I wasn't born when they released their music but steely Dan are absolutely amazing in the way they wrote their music and its still relevant today. Songs like pretzel logic, black friday, peg, I listen to all the time.

It's a stunning piece of work Real Life and if any band deserved more recognition in history Magazine should be right up there. Not ahead of its time but just brilliant. I've still got Real Life of vinyl I just checked under the stairs, phew
No , 1979 King Georges Hall Blackburn and Simple Minds were support. Whatever happened to them? It's a stunning piece of work Real Life and if any band deserved more recognition in history Magazine should be right up there.
Did you get to see them in 2009??
Heard their comeback single last year when Zoe Ball interviewed Jim Kerr on Radio 2, think they were doing a festival too. Simple Minds that is.No , 1979 King Georges Hall Blackburn and Simple Minds were support. Whatever happened to them?
I saw him about 18 Months ago at a festival… Wuite possibly one of the most surreal experiences of my life… some bald headed 70 odd year old grandad suddenly broke out into a full robotic dance routine right in front of me …Great version, didn't think Newman did his old stuff anymore though
This has had 71,000 views and at least 70,000 are mine.No , 1979 King Georges Hall Blackburn and Simple Minds were support. Whatever happened to them?
Summer Breeze, great song
Bohemian Rhapsody
Whiter Shade of Pale
Sultans of Swing
House of the Rising Sun
Procol Harum we’re allegedly high on lsd when they wrote the song and have no clue what it’s about, part of the magic, great song.Absolute belters there Mates.
None better than Whiter Shade of Pale, there is a brilliant version on You Tube where they do it in Denmark with one of those posh band things.
They don't make 'em like they used to.
