I think its fairly simple, id forget cases, as the whole point of being vaccinated means you may still have the infection but be absolutely fine.

If hospitals aren't anywhwre near overwhelmed and people aren't dying in great numbers then they have to proceed having promised it, but id be fine with everything opening but then saying look, be cautious, supermarkets etc still require masks still, and people still work from home where possible.

As long as everything is open is the main thing.

Had the borders not been so lax we wouldn't have had this strain.

When thinking about announcing this road map to be sure its a one way ticket to freedom they had to ensure the borders were secure.

We should have got our own ship in order, put a proper quarantine system in place early on, no idea why this wasn't done early in the pandemic.

The amount of antibodies is apparently in about 80% of adults i think it said.

The virus can't have much further to go without hitting brick walls and being surpessed more and more.

Very annoyed about the lack of quarantine from people coming in when the impression was nobody was flying yet 1000s were all the time.

Its unforgivable really and is now undermining the progress we have made.

I’ve had both jabs. I’ve worked throughout the pandemic.
I can’t see what difference the 21st of June would make for me anyway.
Happy to wear a mask in shops, buses and at work when moving around.
Have no intention of clubbing it any day soon and will sacrifice a holiday abroad no problem,
So yeah, though I am totally over it all I’m equally unfussed about what I’m supposed to be missing right now 🤔

It's OK Lytham, I wouldn't worry, I'm sure that the posters on here will consider all the factors and form and express balanced opinions after evaluating the performance of Boris/the Government further down the line.

Then after two weeks open London and the south but put a traffic light system in for the North.
I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t place restrictions on the likes of Lancashire and the other hot spots, and so it goes on and on.
I’ve just told the office to keep me in the USA until everything is open.
Could be Christmas at this rate.

It’s not ok for people like me that has had my buisness closed for the past 15months only to be told we can’t open fully yet again. First to close last to open. The impact this is having on mine and 1000s of other buisnesses
If only they’d closed our borders earlier we wouldn’t be in this position we find ourselves in right now
There is always going to be variants so what we gunna do stay living under restrictions forever more. Madness

James Cleverly on Sky News at the moment trying to explain why they didn’t shut the borders with India sooner, sorry but the British public aren’t stupid and the bollox the government keep spewing out to justify their lateness is embarrassing at best.

He didn’t have a clear answer when asked why they didn’t close the borders from India sooner when they had thousands upon thousands more cases than Pakistan’s and Bangladesh
My finances have took a massive hit. The grants we got just paid the rent each month. They’re wasn’t enough to pay the rest of the overheads such as gas electric council tax water plus bar license etc ( which we’ve still had to pay even though they closed us)
They’re going to delay opening by four weeks ffs so when I go to work this morning I’m going to have to call all my guests(groups) see if they still want to come ( very doubtful)
They’re supposed to be allowing weddings and receptions of any size yet I can only have groups of 6 in my hotel
Also they’ve said they’re gunna allow 40,000 into Wembley for the Euro final so what’s the difference here 4000 for Blackpool at Wembley. Yet 40,000 for euros. What’s the ** difference. Making things up as they go along and pissing me right off.

Funnily enough, those showing the most sense right now are the plebs (of which I am one) who are quietly getting with it. Non-Professors who don't need a meteorologist to tell them whether it's raining or not.

I remember Bozzer giving his first speech on the steps of Downing Street after he caught Covid saying quite clearly that the government wanted to be as transparent as possible with the public, they’ve been far from it and treated is like idiots in most cases. The limit they set in outdoor stadia up to June 21st was 10% up to a maximum of 10,000 for the larger stadia, and all of a sudden they’re letting in 18,000 in for a test match and 21,500 in Wembley tomorrow. Pisses me right off!

Don’t tarnish all the British public as being stupid or otherwise! People want to get on doing what they do best like Michelle with her hotel business but she’s up in the air at the moment losing money but sounding like just about staying afloat.

Some people don’t understand this Michelle.

Bounce back loans are now repayable, people think because places are open they are making money! They aren’t in many cases because of limited numbers and social distancing restrictions. They think because furlough pays their staff they are fine, but they still have to cover holiday entitlements and NI and rental costs.

And people are facing more financial troubles now and many will go pop and why?

For cases!!! Half of them, there’s fuck all wrong with them! Isolating, positive tests and there is nothing wrong with people!

The sad reality is people are on the edge because of all this, this news will push people over it or to the brink... “all in this together” what a piss take !

I was asked a question and I answered it reasonably.
My reference to working through the pandemic was relating to my still going out to work as a key worker when nobody else wanted to, despite my own concerns. Do you call doctors and nurses selfish as f*ck ?
Wearing a mask isn’t weird or selfish as f*ck either, it’s actually the opposite of selfish in a global pandemic.
You’re quite an angry little man a lot of the time aren’t you, waiting to jump and have a pop at anyone who doesn’t view things your way. Nice.

The problem is that this Indian variant is spreading like wildfire and the more it spreads, the more likelihood of it mutating again and then bypasses the vaccine. If that’s the case it’s surely better to try to stop it now, rather than let it rip and face full lockdown again.

I understand your position Michelle, I was in the business so you have my utmost sympathy, but we are where we are and I just can’t see them relaxing everything on the 21st. Those who suffer most are businesses like yours with social distancing restraints, but look around any supermarket and they’re packed with no social distancing whatsoever.

Yeah totally agree. I’m just in an awful situation at the moment. Not knowing whether to order beer barrels and stock etc as on two occasions we’ve had to throw away over £2000 worth of out of date stock then had to pay out again for new stock. Soul destroying it really is

If he relaxes social distancing (doubt it like) that would be much better for me and my buisness along with thousands of other buisness owners in my position that cannot function in the way we normally would
I know loads of hotels that are taking bigger groups than 6 but it’s just not worth the risk. The council have been round twice checking instead of just letting us get on and run our buisness but they obv haven’t checked them out properly unlike us when they actually came into our bar to make sure guests were sat apart etc etc
Season is gunna be over before we know it and not making money now puts all these buisnesses in doubt as to whether they can survive the winter months
Money for winter would normally be generated throughout the season but we couldn’t open till mid May on a lower capacity which makes it extremely difficult for buisness to generate a winter fund
Hopefully we can get thru this shit

Anti vaxxers vs mask wearers, remainers vs leavers, wokies vs right of centre, meghan vs kate. Take a side people, get angry, fall out and become more entrenched. Sleep walk into a culture war, the tories must be killing themselves laughing that everyone is too busy arguing to bother about their latest lie or scandal.

You understand that India was placed on the red list on the day that the JBC updated advised the government to do so.
