Very proud of The Government and NHS

Ever thought that some posters may not be trying to "alter anyone`s opinion", but simply using the forum to express themselves and their views?
So repeating the same stuff over and over again isn't having a rant or trying to stir up political hatred. Got ya.

It is an effective teaching technique.😉
Tell them what they are going to learn.
Tell them what they are learning.
Tell them what they have learnt.

Repeat with patience and "without abuse" until they learn the information they need to know.

We have done marvellously well in getting those 1st Vaccinations done, but remember we need 2 doses for full effectiveness so we have to do it all over again AND start the >65 tranche at the same time.

So far only 0.80% of the UK has had both jabs (0.92% in France and 2.87% in Denmark) so a little behind in that respect.

We also had to tweak the date parameters between doses - and I can appreciate the logic behind that to ensure as many people as possible have “some” protection.

Whilst we will make big inroads over the next few weeks we also have to remember that till other Countries catch up, we aren’t going anywhere yet!

If you’re going to quote statistics please attempt to get them correct.

Second dose percentage is just over 1%, still a small number but will increase significantly soon.

Remember it’s only 10 weeks since the first jab was administered, so now we will start to see an increase in 2nd jabs.

Is that what they call indoctrination? 😉

AFAIK the JCVI thinks that the first dose actually provides pretty much full protection anyway, the second dose is more about longevity of protection, which is why they were in favour of extending the interval in the first place.

They were correct at the time of going to press 😜

This is the elephant in the room at the moment. Has anyone seen any updated data on the efficacy of the Pfizer first dose after 6 or 7 weeks?

The manufacturer said the second was needed after 3 or 4 weeks. The only other thing I heard was someone from Pfizer saying, maybe at a push you might wait slightly but no more than 6 weeks.

We need realtime data updates or else we may now have people feeling well protected when their protection has plummeted.

I know I'm going to regret this but WTF, I've just had my first jab and feel hopeful for the future

I think most people will look to China regarding the origination of this virus and the Chinese Government for it's export (though how the hell you stop it spreading with global travel in people and goods at that time.)

What I don't get is how is it China's fault (excepting the above) the we in the UK have been so badly affected - Lack of border controls. lack of PPE, Multiple lockdowns, Eat Out to Help Out, Christmas on then off etc etc

Wow. It's the Chinese govts fault because they tried to cover it up with their lies and deceit. Watch the programme. All the time they were trying to cover it up in their own country and from the rest of the world people were going about their business travelling in and out the country. You rightly talk about our own failings but my point is the Chinese govt failure in the first place resulted in the disease spreading to the rest of the world and from that millions of people have died.

Don't disagree. But to use a football analogy, Husband make a huge fuck up which nearly costs us a goal. 5 minutes later and after several other players have touched the ball, we concede. Is that Husbands fault we conceded ?

And is it our fault that so many of our soldiers got killed in the Falklands? You go back to what started it don't you.You don't blame our govt do you? Cause and effect.
Anyway, on a more light hearted note, with regards to your football analogy in the case of Mourinho and Dele Alli, the answer was yes.
